As part our peer to peer learning sessions, yesterday we conducted a study tour for 50 farmers (26 females, 24 males) focusing on mushroom farming. We visited Utamuriza Jeannette in @RwamaganaDistr , a successful mushroom farmer. The tour provided participants with practical insights into mushroom production, such as substrate preparation, cultivation techniques, harvesting & post-harvest handling, and market opportunities.

Through hands-on learning, young farmers explored mushroom farming as a sustainable agribusiness venture. Many expressed keen interest in adopting the practice to diversify their income sources. By equipping farmers with practical skills and market insights, we are contributing to sustainable agricultural development and economic empowerment.

[Rwanda Youth In Agribusiness Forum @ryaf_agribiz]

Today, July 29th, 2024  in @RwamaganaDistr, RYAF, along with Rwamagana District  and other consortia members in including @EmpowerRwanda and @YEAN_Agro, held an youth employment (YEFFA) project's awareness meeting with NYC, National Women's Council, at district and sector levels.
The focus was on YEFFA, a 3-year program (2024-2027) funded by @MastercardFdn through @AGRA_Africa.
This initiative aims to unlock employment opportunities for youth (18-35 years of age), especially young women(70%), in the Eastern province, including the Rwamagana district. The project was appreciated by participants and committed to creating awareness of a project up to the village level and ensuring all youth are registered for the project. Let's together unlock opportunities that create dignified and fulfilling works in an agrifood system for our young people  #YEFFA #YouthEmpowerment.
