Right after harvesting Maize, we are working with KIABR cooperative of Rugeramigozi I irrigation schemes to plant Beans on 70 Ha.
We walk with farmers each step of the production to ensure that we optimize the inputs and agronomic practices.
Through hands-on community engagement, YEAN is empowering young agriculture professionals to champion farmer organization, collective action, and community leadership. As seen in the pictures our youth-led extension approach brings farmers together, strengthens trust, and builds shared solutions from the ground up.
By positioning young professionals as facilitators and leaders at community level, YEAN is shaping a new generation of extension agents who listen, organize, and lead for impact because sustainable agriculture grows through strong communities.

Yesterday, YEAN convened an introductory meeting chaired by the Vice Mayor of Economic Development for @Nyamagabe District regarding the management of five irrigation schemes Under the Operational and Management of irrigation schemes Project implemented in collaboration with @RwandaAgriBoard .
YEAN presented a detailed operational plan for the project and the Vice Mayor emphasized the importance of strategic synergy to boost agricultural yields, strengthen market linkages, and maximize infrastructure through year-round (3-seasons) production. YEAN will be at the center of operationalization of irrigation schemes into Food Basket Sites.
Today, in partnership with @BPNRwanda , YEAN is facilitating a two-day technical training on Quality & Safety Standards in Agriculture for the "Grow to Scale" project.
Since 2022, YEAN leverages its AIRTEA-funded Agribusiness Incubation and Innovation Hub (AIIH) to collaborate with partners for essential technical skills in agri-food systems.

Good work starts early especially in agriculture.
Nothing beats the joy of farmers harvesting the fruits of their hard work.
@YEAN_Agro field agronomists continue to deliver the best approaches and practices, leading to strong yields and empowered farmers.
At YEAN, regular crop monitoring and field inspections are at the heart of our proximity coaching approach.
Our agronomists are consistently on the ground walking through farmers’ fields, assessing crop performance, identifying challenges early, and providing timely, practical advice.
This hands-on support ensures that farmers receive accurate guidance based on real field conditions, helping them improve productivity and resilience season after season.
Youth Professional farmer advisors are leading the transformation of farming systems through enhancing technology adoption.
10years of inspiring agribusiness

YEAN’s Knowledge Management Team, through the YEFFA Eastern Consortium, has launched a two-week capacity-building program for young professional agriculture extension agents across Rwanda’s Eastern Province.
The training is designed to enhance participants’ competencies in digital mobile-based content and information sharing, digital storytelling, and agriculture knowledge management, enabling them to co-create and disseminate actionable agricultural technologies and advisory services.
By leveraging digital tools, these youth will play a pivotal role in bridging farmer knowledge gaps, fostering adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), and promoting productivity and resilience among smallholder farmers.

Today, YEAN in collaboration with Rwanda Agriculture and animal resources Board @RwandaAgriBoard , conducted an awareness campaign for the management of Fall Army Warms (FAW) in Maize in Rugeramigozi 1 Marshland in Muhanga District @Muhangadis , Rwanda South. About 390 farmers participated and covered almost 35 Ha of 70Ha of the marshland. Same campaigns are happening in @RuhangoDistrict and @Kamonyi Districts
FAW is a strong pest to maize and can cause enormous losses when not managed efficiently. A great collaboration with farmers ensures good practices adoption and hence better yield.
No agriculture, no food — no peace, no jobs, no education, no entertainment.
Everything we enjoy starts with agriculture. It feeds us, employs us, and creates endless opportunities for youth.
