Yesterday marked seven months since #D4vd ’s Tesla was towed with Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s dismembered body in the front trunk. Seven months, and we still have nothing but sealed medical examiner records.

A sworn affidavit used to justify sealing those records claimed that LAPD only wanted to ensure they received the report before the public. Yet the report, which should be public, remains sealed.

I believe it remains sealed because its contents would spark public outrage and a demand for answers, answers that law enforcement and prosecutors have failed to provide. They have not even held a basic press conference, something routinely done in high-profile cases.

A dismembered 14-year-old does not appear to warrant informing the public, even though a murderer, or multiple perpetrators, may still be free among us. As far as I am concerned, this has been a complete failure.

I also cannot understand why the family has remained silent. Are they concerned about what they knew? Are they being intimidated? Or is justice for Celeste slowly fading away?

Yes, cases can take time, especially when there is no clear starting point. But that is not the situation here.

Criminal grand juries also do not investigate indefinitely. In Los Angeles County, criminal grand juries are typically empaneled for 30 days. When a new grand jury is seated, they are provided prior materials, but they did not hear the testimony themselves. In many ways, the process starts over.

Since David’s parents appealed, the previous grand jury’s term has now expired. Here we go again.

No indictment.
No press release.
No press conference.
No answers.
No justice.

Today marks six months since Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found dismembered in the front trunk of a Tesla owned by David Burke, also known as #D4vd. She had been viciously hacked apart and placed into two bags. Celeste was only 14 years old when she was killed.

To this day, no one has been charged or arrested.

In other cases involving murdered children, such as Melodee Buzzard, or the recent case of two young girls found dead in suitcases, law enforcement and prosecutors held public news conferences. In the case of #CelesteRivasHernandez, there has never been one.

Instead, there has been what appears to be an ongoing effort to keep people quiet and to seal records from public view. Meanwhile, the individuals responsible for killing her and cutting off her limbs are still living among us as free citizens.

How many times can a young girl who only lived to be 14 be failed?

Maybe this case needs new investigators and prosecutors?

It’s infuriating that we are approaching six months and no charges have been filed in her murder. If the evidence hasn’t been secured by now, what exactly is happening? Is this a blown investigation?

We now know these monsters sawed off Celeste's arms and legs. Let’s not call it “dismemberment.” That word sounds clinical, like a surgeon removed her limbs. That is not what happened. A vicious, sick group of people brutally hacked her arms and legs off her body. Was she alive when they started? And yes, I am using plural terms because, in my professional opinion, there is no way one person did this alone, whether participating directly or acting as an accessory. Yet only one individual is named as a target in the court filings.

Like you Neo Christopher Langston. You knew. I’ve seen family members publicly defend him and threaten lawsuits against anyone who names him. Sue me. I beg you, please sue me. Give me subpoena power. Give me the power of discovery because that may be the only way the truth comes out. I beg of you, file that defamation suit. How do people like David, Neo, and Aysia live with themselves?

Six months. No charges. No press conference.

But LAPD and the District Attorney’s Office did issue a press release stating they had the Medical Examiner’s autopsy and investigative findings sealed so detectives could review them first, claiming it was not meant to undermine transparency. They got that information. Yet the records remain sealed. That press release misled the public. That press release was a lie.

Another press release suggested the only potential criminal culpability might be concealment of a body. They said that knowing Celeste’s arms and legs had been sawed off. You came out with that press release knowing what had been done to her?

If they do not have enough evidence to charge those responsible, then they need to say that plainly. Admit that after nearly six months, the investigation has not produced sufficient evidence to charge David Anthony Burke or anyone else who participated or was an accessory. Admit it's a blown investigation. Admit that important evidence was left behind after the search warrant. Admit that critical surveillance was lost because nobody followed up to obtain it.

Celeste’s head and torso were placed in one cadaver bag. Her arms and legs were placed in another. Someone purchased cadaver bags. They cut her apart, placed her remains inside those bags, put her in the trunk of a Tesla, and went on with their lives. They purchased cadaver bags. They went to the extent of purchasing cadaver bags.

And still, six months later, there are no charges. No accountability. Silence. Sealed records.

Threaten me with contempt all you want. I will proudly take that contempt charge in the pursuit of justice for Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Six months is enough.

Do your sworn duty, or admit the case was failed.

We need to let the LAPD and the DA's Office know we are mad and this is not acceptable. And I wish her family would do the same.
