The world's largest website for Anglophiles. Since 2007. We publish books about Britain, import British products to the USA, and celebrate Britishness.
This is a friendly reminder that we're no longer actively posting here and are now focusing on Threads where we can share all our new articles and stuff without Musk stupidity. Please give us a follow there - we will eventually shut this account down: https://t.co/jvDXAqHA7L
Does anyone know where online you can buy the Radio Times Christmas Double Issue with shipping to the USA? My usual source https://t.co/7wYmoYl6qy is already sold out.
“Coventry becomes a symbol of reconciliation and peace after the war, forging connections with other bombed cities, including Dresden. It’s this remarkable transformation from devastation to representing hope and international co-operation.”
Dr Chris Smith recently featured on the @anglotopia Podcast, where he spoke about the Coventry Blitz, marking its 85th anniversary.
Chris explores the myths surrounding the event, particularly the narrative that Churchill sacrificed Coventry to protect intelligence secrets.
The conversation also delves into the scale of the bombing, the city’s industrial significance, the immediate aftermath, and the role of propaganda.

If you listened to my interview yesterday with Quintin Lake, the man who walked the entire coast of Britain, and wanted to see some of the incredible pictures, he was kind enough to provide us with a selection which we've been able to share here: https://t.co/5qeOwjwngw
I spoke with US based @anglotopia about my 5-year walk around Britain’s coast—what inspired it, what it taught me, and how light, history, wildlife, and even lockdown shaped the journey. We covered photography, place, perspective—and what comes next.

If you come across a Google Ad, it's likely a caching issue. We use Cloudflare for global caching, and it takes a few hours to update, even when we purge things manually.
Today is a very happy day for Anglotopia! For the first time in almost 17 years, there is no longer Google Ads on https://t.co/VKYZ71P1nB. We have removed the Google Ads, cleared the caches, and now everyone can browse the website without the obtrusive ads.
Thank you to our Friends of Anglotopia Club members who have made this possible. When we launched last June, we hoped to get to this day, and we're here. You made it possible. Thank you!
