rewatching eva rn (on to ep 18) and I can see why some people say that Asuka x Shinji would have never worked out like bro, she was giving mixed signals left and right while pushing others away so that they wouldn’t see her most personal and vulnerable sides (1/??) 🧵

cuz she desires human affection from Shinji (from anyone probably) but she keeps pushing people away in fear of seeing her most vulnerable self. Anyway I think that’s all I have to say abt this, I genuinely love how Hideaki Anno took these psychological concepts to the extreme.
