@MeinGottNiles Not celebrating his death, is this not the "cancel culture" the right has hated for years? I don't think whataboutisms get you out of this either. If you believe the principle is bad, why would you do it?
@SillyAliciaX@ahmad_kb@Pirat_Nation The packaged binaries of the engine do not grow proportionally to how much content is in the game. The starter content is a perfect representation to the actual size of the engine. Its absurd to think the engine should handhold you through a good asset pipeline before import
@BrukerErOpptatt @ahmad_kb@Pirat_Nation Do you know what happens when you package the game? Do you think the source code and build dependencies are just put into the game? Do you think the engines binaries grow proportional to the size of assets? Why do you pretend to understand what's happening under the hood?
@RickCarrillo22@ahmad_kb@Pirat_Nation No, the better comparison is getting a shitty experience at a restaurant and blaming the stoves, ovens, and cooking utensils the restaurant is using for your bad food
@SillyAliciaX@ahmad_kb@Pirat_Nation I'm sorry when did unreal engine force you to use nanite? UE allows for archvis, short films, and renders. Do you think that because it allows for 32k textures that it's encouraging you to use 32k textures for every asset? Do you have professional experience working in engine?
@SillyAliciaX@ahmad_kb@Pirat_Nation Yeah, surely Unreal Engine encouraged Bethesda's notoriously horrible asset optimization.
Its not the responsibility of the engine to force you to use optimized file types, lower poly assets, lower res textures, less redundant files, lossless audio. That's a moronic take
@BrukerErOpptatt @ahmad_kb@Pirat_Nation Do you think all of the tools, plugins, and assets just get put into the game when you package it? Have you ever packaged a game? Go package the third person starter content after disabling unused plugins. It'll be anywhere from 70-120mb
@ahmad_kb@Pirat_Nation When did I ever say that? You have every right to complain about game size. In most cases it's the result of neglecting optimization. You just don't know what you're talking about if you think it's because of unreal engine.
@kshep92@ahmad_kb@Pirat_Nation The engine isn't even remotely close comparatively to the data packaged. Just look at deep rock galactic—3gb for a shitload of content. A massive amount of 4k+ textures and high poly models can only be compressed so much in any engine. It's because of deadlines or incompetence.
@ahmad_kb@Pirat_Nation I hate when gamers think theyre qualified to give these dogshit takes when they have zero insight into the process of developing a game
If you package the game with minimal content, the size will be less than 1gb. It's because AAA studios have deadlines and don't optimize enough
@Gryph911@browntom1234@JoshEakle You are so mind rotted with the media you are inundated with, you have no idea whatsoever what the average liberal is like. Keep shoveling shit down your throat just like Meta Inc. And X want you to do
