@abhinitial@Godgeez Accountability without agency is why most designers are reluctant about owning consequences. They don't have dedicated engg resource allocations like PMs do, how should they take responsibility for outcomes? Most don't even have a path to prod that doesn't go through a PM.
@ghuubear Meanwhile there are literal noobs in any field discovering table-stakes in terms of knowledge and presenting it as peak gyaan uniquely distilled by them. That surely deserves a reality check.
The AI design space has saturated stylistically, and this has happened very rapidly. Design as a profession is not going to be supplanted by a pattern matching machine. We, the designers, have always known this. Tech bros had to burn billions in GPUs and tokens to find it out.

Someone on his team would have pitched this idea. Modi probably would have laughed for five seconds straight and instantly said, "Done." Then some staffer would have been assigned to buy a Melody packet.
For the last few days across UAE, Netherlands, Sweden and Norway, he was probably carrying this in his head, internally giggling at the meme potential and the storm it'll cause on internet. Maybe that's why when the Norway journalist shouted about press freedom, he didn't hear her. The man was busy preparing his punchline in his head.
And now the moment is here, and it delivered. Peak internet bait. Credit to both leaders; that's how you instantly connect with the youth.
PMs are so delusional that they think they'll get "secondary responsibilities" and orgs will eliminate design and engineering roles as a consequence of AI advancement. Bro, it's your role that puts the "secondary" in secondary responsibilities.
The design tooling industry has put in billions of dollars to make designed aesthetics easy to copy for unskilled users. I'm not surprised at all by the horde of "designers" on X copying other people's work and claiming it as their own. This was inevitable. No, this was intended.
@socoloffalex An artist has no cause to create for their audience other than personal expression and adulation. A designer must create to serve a purpose for their users. That is the difference.
@FonsMans UI slop masquerading as "craft" has been responsible for de-valuing design as a discipline so much over the past several years. You can trace a straight line from shaders through purple gradients right back to dribbble.
