feel like it should be a bigger story that the Federal Reserve - led by a registered Republican first appointed by Trump - is manufacturing a recession
@Lapo13@GeeLedger@TheAmishDude Even if he lost his podcast hosting, he'd still have YouTube and Twitter and probably some far-right podcast network would snap him up.
@d_uriele@sar_dim@JensKrabbe1@parismarx @Mikkel_oerum I do agree that places that are spread out need to be more centralized, but unless we're planning on forcibly moving people, the solution is to make being centralized more attractive. Carrots work better than sticks.
@d_uriele@sar_dim@JensKrabbe1@parismarx @Mikkel_oerum Uh, buses? Hello? Trains?
The fuck it isn't an option. Most people do most of their driving within a very small area. You don't really know what you're talking about.
@Lapo13@GeeLedger@TheAmishDude "Including trolling"
Then why exactly are you malding about this podcasting group having their say? Why are you complaining? Freeze peach, man.
@Lapo13@GeeLedger@TheAmishDude Deplatforming happens to work pretty well when you're dealing with fascists.
I'm sorry people don't like ya boy. I guess you'll just have to deal with it like an adult.
"everyone has chance to say what they feel."
That has never every been true. Not ever.
@fishontherun2@alicetweet She was born in '66, so maaaaybe just old enough to have been able to pay for her college tuition with a job.
I certainly couldn't and I'm about 10 years younger.
@CNN has an opportunity to become a truly trusted news source. Instead they continue to hire people who say truly ignorant shit like this. How many times does this nonsense have to be debunked?
@alicetweet Oh, what a very Republican response.
I went to college after you did, in the 90s. I worked. It did not pay my tuition. Not. At. All. I paid for my books, and my food and the like.
@d_uriele@sar_dim@JensKrabbe1@parismarx @Mikkel_oerum You seem well intentioned but you need to do more reading than a report by McKinsey, which has a vested interest in capitalism.
I'm muting now.
@d_uriele@sar_dim@JensKrabbe1@parismarx @Mikkel_oerum The human populations depends on biodiversity to survive. It doesn't matter how many babies there are if the landscape is blighted and we can't grow crops and most of the animals have died and there's no water. We can't live on capital.
@d_uriele@sar_dim@JensKrabbe1@parismarx @Mikkel_oerum characterizations of what counts as "developing countries."
Regardless, you have not read the report correctly.
@d_uriele@sar_dim@JensKrabbe1@parismarx @Mikkel_oerum They may have "larger exposure" because of the percentage of their energy use from oil, but they have much much larger incentives to move to other forms of energy because their countries are already suffering the effects of climate change. Also I question some of McKinsey's
