Apparently by Swiss standards, I have HUGE feet (US women's 10 -EU 42). A size that the women's sections do not stock.

Maybe my standards are too high, but isn't it insanely unprofessional and rude for a company to ghost you after 2 interviews?

I can't believe they couldn't be bothered to type a two-sentence email saying I wasn't hired.

Whenever someone I don't know calls me in Switzerland I pretend like I don't know German. I've given a few telemarketers a hard time I think.

I finished my Master's and now can't find a job or a Ph.D. position... I'm really feeling like a failure at this point.

@theoreticalwzrd It's wild to me that you're having such trouble with students calling you by the correct name. For me, the default was ALWAY Dr. "last name" or Professor "last name".

I have officially passed all of the exams needed for my master's thesis. Now, I just have to finish my master's thesis.

@mathphuzz I'm frustrated with some people in the U.S. because the CDC said you dont have to wear a mask unless you're unvaccinated or in a doctors office. But of course the (willingly) unvaccinated people just hear "no masks".

@mathphuzz In the end, it just resulted in an involuntary nights stay in paris and a seat on a flight that was only 10% full. I have still never been to the U.K.

I am finally back in the U.S. after some of the most chaotic and stressful travel days. (sidenote: the UK website on entry requirements is a confusing mess.)

Hello ETH Zürich, I have Asperger's (now called ASD in the US). Oral exams (which all the physics exams are) are probably the shittiest way to test my (personal) knowledge of a course. Sincerely, Hannah.
