Parolee Steven Black stomped 50-year-old Susan Watkins so violently behind a Fort Worth dumpster that she died from her injuries five days later. A Texas jury has now sentenced him to life in prison.
Witnesses told jurors that Black knocked Watkins to the ground, repeatedly stomped on her head, and struck her in the face with a chunk of asphalt before leaving her critically injured. She died five days later.
A Tarrant County jury found him guilty of murder and sentenced him to life. Susan Watkins paid the ultimate price because someone decided to give this man another chance.
Steven Black already got his second chance. He should never get a third. Life in prison is not enough for a crime this violent.

I saw this pop up in my feed and had to look it up. It’s true. In Canada, a mother who murders her newborn is charged with infanticide which Canadian law treats as a lesser charge than murder. The maximum sentence for a mother killing her infant is only five years in prison. Canada is one of the most evil nations on Earth. We have invaded and bombed countries for far less.

A late-night field report from the parking-structure savanna - Night falls over the concrete canopy, and the troop is already agitated. What we are watching is not a disagreement. It is a female dominance brawl of the most familiar kind: loud, hair-first, and completely indifferent to the fact that several thousand pounds of automobile are sitting two feet away.

The yellow-patterned shebafoon opens with the classic move. She does not strike so much as harvest—both hands in the scalp, using the other woman’s head like a handle. Around her, the coalition piles in. One combatant is down to little more than brightly coloured scraps of cloth, which in this habitat functions less as clothing and more as a battle flag. Shoes come off immediately. They always do. Footwear is ornamental here. The real weapons are fingernails, teeth, and the willingness to drag another female across the painted yellow line until her body slams the bumper of a Camry.
A blonde-wigged female enters from the flank like a late arrival to a kill. She does not mediate. She joins. That is the rule. Once the screaming starts, neutrality is treated as weakness.

On the ground: a yellow bag, a black bag, someone’s dignity. None of it will be retrieved until the hierarchy is settled.

A male in a navy polo finally approaches. He is large, slow, and performing the ancient role of the reluctant bull who would rather film this later than stop it now. He steps in, half-separating, half-spectating. The females treat him as furniture. They continue slamming one another against the silver car as if the hood were a drum.

This is not random chaos. This is display. Volume, hair-pulling, public humiliation, the need for an audience with phones up—every element of the ritual is present. In the forest, chimps fight over fruit, mates, and rank. In the parking garage, the prize is usually the same three things, just with worse lighting and a Cadillac in the way.
The fight does not end so much as it runs out of steam and witnesses. One female is hauled sideways. Another stays locked against the wheel well, still swinging. The troop fragments. The cameras stay up a few seconds longer, because in this species the recording is the trophy.

By morning the concrete will be hosed down, the bags claimed or stolen, and nobody will be able to explain what it was “about.” They never can. The footage, however, will travel farther than any of them walked tonight.

In the urban range of this particular primate, that is how status is negotiated: not with words, and not quietly.
With hair, concrete, and an audience.

On November 30, 1997, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, Holton shot his four children—Stephen (12), Brent (10), Eric (6), and Kayla (4) two at a time in his garage.

He told them not to peek because "Daddy had a surprise."

Holton was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder and psychosis.

He was a military veteran who had been suffering from PTSD.

Both sides acknowledged he was deeply afflicted with mental illness.

It didn't matter.

The jury deliberated for 50 minutes and handed down a death sentence.

He died via the electrocution in 2007.

Men didn't line the streets in support. They didn't do heart shaped hands. They didn't donate $1 million.

They unanimously agreed this scumbag deserved to die.

A high-speed chase ensued. Tanisha ran a red light, and struck another vehicle killing a 15-year-old passenger, Sarafina O’Connell still wearing her cheerleading outfit .
Tanisha was charged with first degree murder, and is awaiting trail while remaining in jail .
