Deactivating this account in a few days. Might watch season 3 of #sanditon someday when I'm feeling lonely and sad and want to feel even sadder.
Thanks for the laughs. Please be anti-racist and anti-sexist because thinking you're a good person with good intentions isn't enough
Thanks for the good times #sanditonsisterhood#sanditon fans. I'm over the show and moving on. My heart no longer cares because the main cliffhanger is going to remain as is and the new season doesn't solve it so what's the point.
Y'all keep supporting each other. Farewell
@GivLivLuvGro@ITG_Ltd@masterpiecepbs@Sanditon@RedPlanetTV An interview resurfaced recently in which Kris Marshall made a joke about his kids becoming โtoo Caribbeanโ. Weโre hoping he will apologize and see that his joke was steeped in racism and educate himself on antiracism so that the #Sanditon set is a safe place. #AntiracistSanditon
Hey so I've popped in after many months and I'm shocked that #SanditonIsSaved. So shocked that I can't feel anything. I need more details. Anyone care to fill me in? How did this happen? Who's producing it? When did the news come out? #Sanditon
We are thrilled to be bringing back #Sanditon for series 2 & 3 & are proud of the incredible support from the Sisterhood.
Rest assured although Sidney Parker is not returning there will be plenty of romance & many exciting twists & turns ahead - we can't wait for you to see it!
The men in #Bridgerton are so unrealistic as characters. A (most likely entitled) prince is going to be ok for a lower class woman to reject him? Regency era men being told off by women about consent and love and not even arguing back because they're all suddenly pro-consent?
And I think that mindset is behind a lot of people defending the more problematic racial and gender dynamics in the #Bridgerton show, because when seen as something created specifically *for* white women, from that perspective, where's the problem in fantasy fulfilled?
//cw the rest of this thread deals with reproductive coercion, lack of consent, rape.
I've seen the argument that Daphne was the actual victim of rape/uninformed consent because in her ignorance she didn't know that Simon's stance on children was a choice, not infertility.
No.
Because the simple fact of it is that Daphne was not entitled to Simon's body in any way, shape, or form that he didn't desire, the same as no man is entitled to any woman's body in any way they don't desire.
If a woman doesn't want children, she owes no man an explanation.
When they expect us to believe that the gorgeous actresses with beautiful smiles are really the the "ugly" and "undesirable" women in Regency period dramas while the creepy AF men are actually creepy AF looking

Two of the black characters, Simon & Marina, are treated like property. How the heck is racism cured when the white girls play the innocent lovelorn damsels & the black girl plays the part of the rude rebel (whose consent isn't asked)
#Bridgerton & #Sanditon are guilty of this
I shuddered when the Rich & Powerful White Woman (Daphne) raped a black man (Simon) as it echoes the historic abuse of black and POC people at the hands of "weak and delicate" white women.
