95 days until college basketball is back! To help count down the days, I'll be highlighting one player every day until the season tips off. Here's Day 1 of my 95 Players to Know Before the 2026โ27 College Basketball Season series.
Day 1:
Micah Robinson (TCU)
Robinson returns to the Frogs after averaging 26.9 minutes per game and starting 13 games as a true sophomore. Finishing the season strong averaging 18p/5r shooting 13/19 from the field across 2 March Madness games against Ohio State & Duke.
A versatile wing, Robinson flashed the ability to operate in ball screens while also serving as a small-ball connector at the four. He's a physical driver who gave both smaller guards and slower-footed bigs problems in closeout situations, posting a 48.1% free throw attempt rate (FTAr).
A true do-it-all wing, Robinson was one of only 20 players across the high-major level last season to post at least:
48.0% FTAr (68th percentile)
11.6% TO% (76th percentile)
2.6% STL% (91st percentile)
In a sport that increasingly values winning the possession battle, Robinson brings a unique skill set that consistently creates extra opportunities for his team.
Defensively, Robinson was also a pivotal piece for the Frogs, finishing in the top three on the team in WARP, Defensive Win Shares (DWS), and DRAPM, according to CBB Analytics. The only other Frog to accomplish that was Texas transfer David Punch.
Robinson's most notable on/off impact came in TCU's ball movement and decision-making. With him on the floor, the Frogs saw a 2.8% increase in AST% and a 2.0% decrease in TO%. Whether operating as a connector or a floor-spacing wing, Robinson played a key role in TCU's offensive flow while thriving in transition and helping the Frogs play at a faster pace.
Look for Robinson to take another leap this season for a TCU squad that returns four core players from last year's team.
