What a joke this government has made of middle class and commiting political suicide. They can get away with all this because we are not vote banks. First E 20, then UGC and now UPI charges

Who on this earth is advising them all this? They are distributing free ration to 80 crores, distributing cash to crores, but want to charge UPI transactions.

This government is influenced by huge bank lobby. First this FD of NRI to boost INR. then finishing debt funds with slab taxation and now benefiting banks and credit card lobby by MDM charges. It is like killing the middle cllass with slow poison.

First we killed the capital markets with consistent increase in STT, capital gain , dividend

Now we will slow down UPI too and further increase cash in circulation. 0.4% MDR is too steep!

The financial think tank is undoing all good work done by the govt.. too much arrogance.

Leave aside, the absolute disdain for the stock markets and plethora of taxes likes STT, STCG, LTCG, there was absolutely no need for transaction charges on UPI transactions at this stage when Petrol, Diesel, Gas, ATF, Tickets, Milk, Rice, Wheat, Biscuits, Sweets prices are at an all time high.

The argument that only 4% will be affected by UPI charges is in line with their ministry thinking, that keep milking to death the 2-4% that actually pay Income taxes in India.

This comes after CAS by SEBI. The Finance Ministry needs a massive overhaul.
