- Helicopters must be used for what they are meant for. They have an advantage of landing anywhere and hence we must look at civil helicopters in a different manner.
- Here is an example: Helicopter piloted by Capt Katti carried out a Med Evac of a person. The person was in a forest and was badly attacked by a Bear. The eye and face are severely affected and operation at Dehradun gives us a hope that all will be OK.
- This mission was possible because Govt of Uttarakhand has hired a machine of Rajaas Avn for disaster management and Med Evacs. 100s of lives have been saved in past one year and Vikrant Aviation is doing a great job as intermediate coordinator. UCADA , the Avn department of Govt of Uttarakhand is taking proactive steps to ensure that such missions deserve the priority they warrant.
- I am blessed to have the ability to fly a machine which has multiple uses ,the best among the use is to “ Save Lives “
- Good luck to all who continue to do such yeoman service.

PS: On some occasions I sense a lot of cynicism by ex fauji pilots about use of civil helicopters for such use. Well ,to them I say” Krupa karke apna gyaan apne paas rakhe”
