KUWENTO NG KABABAIHAN SA KULUNGAN 📖⛓️

Every day, women deprived of liberty confront many challenges: congestion, security, mental and physical health, burden of women’s traditional roles, and access to justice, including basic and gender-responsive programs and services.

This is the result of a 2019 survey initiated by the CHR among women detainees in select detention centers in the country.

It also contains first-person accounts of women deprived of liberty in the context of the pandemic.

These cards have excerpts translated from Filipino.

Through this project, we share moments of strength, hope, and persistence in the daily life of women deprived of liberty.

The full narratives are part of the e-booklet INSIDE STORIES: Women's Situation in Jails & Access to Justice (CHR, Gantala Press, and UN Women, 2023).
