Reruns of classics seem to do very well for Disney Channel.
Last year they aired two Lilo & Stitch: The Series marathons and now they air the series on a regular basis.
Their 20th anniversary Hannah Montana marathon scored pretty good too.
Disney Channel is airing some of its classic TV shows and movies all this week from 5p to ~12a.
Then they'll continue every Thursday all summer starting next week, as part of the Disney+ and Hulu's "Throwback" event.
Even with Animal Control joining, the branding still works. Animation still dominates the lineup.
Plus this isn't the first time a live-action show was part of the block, shows like Malcolm in the Middle and The War at home aired as part of the block too.
Fox's new Animation Domination lineup starting this fall:
8:00p - The Simpsons (season 38)
8:30p - Animal Control (season 5)
9:00p - Universal Basic Guys (season 3)
9:30p - Grimsburg (season 3)
Family Guy, American Dad!, Bob's Burgers and Krapopolis get held for midseason.
This new lineup also helps even out the shows, now the midseason schedule can have four consistent shows like the fall schedule
And not have to use the 9:30p slot for an extra new Family Guy or various reruns.
Disney Channel is airing a marathon of fan favorite Hannah Montana episodes until midnight to celebrate the 20th anniversary.
Including the movie and the concert movie.
3/15
8:00p - Family Guy - 727K
8:30p - Universal Basic Guys - 552K
9:00p - American Dad! - 568K
9:30p - Family Guy - 771K
Not too bad for 2026 standards. Having new Family Guy eps on both ends of the block seem to help and American Dad has fit back in nicely.
Ever since Nick at Nite expanded to 7p, the block has been able to regularly pull in 200K+ viewers in primetime consistently for the first time since 2022.
Look at Friends and (especially) Big Bang's numbers, they've been pulling upwards of 400K to 600K viewers on certain nights
Interestingly, Nick at Nite's ratings have been gradually increasing since January.
It's becoming one of the highest rated nets on cable and the second most watched Paramount cable net behind TV Land.
They started the year off with averaging 220K and recently, 313K.
