I went back through 8 weeks of trading reviews and have come to some interesting conclusions
Since I can remember I’ve been chasing perfect discipline…
What I found was completely different.
@cybersploit2 Of course not, I have a system that I execute in the markets. And I track my trades inside my own platform as well as on the FTMO platform.
I use a combination of both to analyse the data I collect each week
@jtrader Exactly. Risk management doesn’t make a bad system profitable.
It keeps a profitable system alive through the periods where its edge isn’t paying.
@t0mbfx Win rate is a system metric, not an operator metric.
The operator’s job is to execute the system well enough for its expectancy to show up over time.
@EliteOptions2 The flexing makes trading look easier than it is.
You’re seeing the payout, not the years it took to become the trader capable of producing it consistently.
@TylerG_Capital The part nobody sees is how many times you had to keep going while there was still no evidence it would ever work.
Then one day it starts working and everyone thinks is over night success
@Jacobtradesz Heavy risk only makes sense when selectivity is equally high.
The problem isn’t risking more. It’s risking more without having earned the conviction.
@dwtradesldn Once you genuinely accept that losses are part of the business, individual trades stop carrying so much weight.
You execute the trade. The edge plays out over the sample.
@AndrewTradesNQ I think trade limits make sense when they’re protecting you from yourself, not the market.
If you’re still executing cleanly and another valid setup presents itself, the number of trades you’ve already taken is pretty irrelevant.
Good trading performance can hide a lot.
You can be making money while your routines are slipping, your discipline outside the charts is getting worse and you’re slowly moving away from the version of yourself that got you there.
Sometimes the right move is to slow down.
Step away. Recalibrate. Get everything sharp again.
Then go again with fresh energy.
