@K_Sarkar2938 @DrAMSinghvi I feel that there is nothing wrong in that rule. If a bowler steps out of the crease even by an inch the opposition team is given free hit. Then y should the non- striker have the advantage of 3/4 feet? But this isn't the case in ashwin's issue.

The point isn’t whether Ashwin had warned Buttler, because he wasn’t obliged to, and the rule has been changed to allow bowlers to run non strikers out after entering the delivery stride. It’s only if he paused to let Buttler to take a start

I never had a problem with bowlers running non-strikers out if they stray out of the crease before the ball is bowled; the question in this case would be if Ashwin waited for Buttler to get out of the crease
