My name is Andrea and the name of my account comes from my first grandson, who calls me Ani, and from a song called Peanut Butter that my mom wrote for me when I was little. One of the lines is “I will share my delights with you.”
I have a friend who is marrying rich. She is extremely sweet and gentle. She is going to be a great wife and mom.
When she told me she got engaged, she was also speaking about how her fiance had said she didn’t have to work.
She mentioned this almost in a whisper and said she felt bad. There was pressure coming from her (boomer) mother and an implication she was failing for choosing to be a stay at home wife and mom. She’s college educated after all!
So I sold it to her as a privilege, as prestigious, as a responsibility. It’s high-class, wealth, status.
Since then she’s quit her job to focus on the wedding and the marriage. Huge weight off her shoulders, she’s much happier. When she told me she quit her job she was again almost embarrassed but I just smiled and encouraged her.
A lot of women are begging for permission to stop pretending they are a girl boss. They are driving themselves crazy because they don’t see a viable off ramp from the feminist girl boss indoctrination that allows them to save face socially.
So when I get a chance I elevate this. I wonder how to do it at scale.
I was lying in the back yard shade and I heard a weird squeaky noise. I looked up and a squirrel was just staring at me and taunting me. It would not stop. I thought about @j_speaktruth getting bitten yesterday, and decided to retreat into the house 😆
Shalom ♥️ “But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
The freshman 15, wild partying, unplanned pregnancies aren't rebellion. They're delayed childhood.
When you parent for obedience instead of conviction, your kids don't learn to govern themselves.
The moment your authority lifts, chaos fills the vacuum.
Parenting isn't about control. It's about making yourself obsolete.
So thankful this morning for a pink sunrise.
Also, my grandson is coming over and spending the night with me in our tent, because he loves to listen to the “night sounds” at Ani’s house ❤️
