And now they are headed to the Play-in tournament for the fourth straight year.

Lost to Hawks (7/8 game)
Beat Bulls (elimination game)
Advanced as the No. 8 seed
Then, they made a stunning run to the NBA Finals

2024 (8-seed)
Lost to 76ers (7/8 game)
Beat Bulls (win-or-go-home)
Advanced as the No. 8 seed
Lost in Round 1
Trend note: Same script as 2023 — lose first, win second.

They advanced as the 8th seed but were swept by the Cavaliers in the first round (0-4).

2025 (as the 10th seed)Won Game 1 (9 vs. 10): Heat 109, Chicago Bulls 90 (road win).
Won Game 2 (8 vs. 10): Heat 123, Atlanta Hawks 114 (OT, road win; first No. 10 seed ever to advance from the Play-In).

As a result, they faced Chicago in the "win-or-go-home" Game 3 for three straight years (2023–2025) and won all of them. That won't be the case this year, though, as the Bulls have failed to qualify for the postseason.

The Heat will enter this April's Play-In (their fourth) with proven experience in these high-stakes, single-elimination-style games.
