We are delighted to congratulate our Director, Dr. Anita Jain @anitajain_02, on presenting her research paper, “Vanishing Voices: #Tribal Youth and the Decline of Traditional Knowledge in #Rajasthan, India,” at the 19th Congress of the International Society of Ethnobiology (ISE 2026), held in collaboration with the Ecological Society of Australia in Cairns, Australia (26–29 July 2026).

Her research underscores the urgent need to preserve the rich traditional #medicinal knowledge of Rajasthan's tribal communities—an invaluable legacy built through generations of empirical wisdom that is now at risk of disappearing.

The study also highlights a remarkable paradox: #millets, once the staple food of #tribal communities but later abandoned due to changing #social perceptions, are today globally recognised as Smart Foods for their nutritional richness, #climate resilience, and role in #sustainable food systems.

By documenting indigenous knowledge and advocating sustainable lifestyles, Dr. Jain's work contributes meaningfully to the global conversation on #biodiversity, #cultural #heritage, and #foodsecurity.

Core Competencies & Qualifications

Master’s degree in International Relations/ Political Science/ Political Science (H)/ Public Policy or an equivalent degree from a reputed university, 6–7 years of relevant work experience OR PhD with 3–4 years of work experience

Proven research background with publications in: Scopus-indexed journals (preferred)/ UGC-recognised journals/ Media outlets / Think tanks/ Policy Research Institutions

Strong understanding of:
•Research methodologies
•OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence)
•Ability to work effectively in teams
•Strong time management; capable of meeting multiple deadlines
•Self-driven with high initiative and willingness to work

Key Responsibilities
•Administrative coordination and institutional support
•Supervision and mentoring of junior researchers
•Event management (seminars, conferences, panel discussions)
•Research report drafting and documentation
•Regular writing and publication of articles/papers
•Editing and reviewing research outputs
