EL PAÍS NO ES EL DE HACE 30 AÑOS ATRÁS

A raíz del execrable atentado contra el senador y candidato Miguel Uribe, Turbay, algunos afirman que en el país se repite la historia padecida, cuando en la época de la violencia política y del narcotráfico, a finales de la década de 1980, fueron asesinados varios candidatos presidenciales.

No me cabe duda que quienes ordenaron este crimen, persiguen generar un clima de terror y profundizar la confrontación política para sus intereses particulares. Pero, se equivocan si creen que estamos en la época de Pablo Escobar.

A diferencia de aquella época infausta, hoy tenemos un organismo de investigación penal. Espero que la Fiscalía General de la Nación, y los organismos de inteligencia, logren rápidamente a esclarecer este crimen. Hoy tenemos una opinión pública, diversa, y que tiene acceso a información y comunicación con la velocidad de las redes sociales. La imposición de ideas extremistas, y narrativas hoy ya no es posible. A pesar de la polarización Politica, el país ha pasado por la experiencia de la concertación de la Constitución de 1991, los diálogos que buscan la paz, y experiencias de entendimiento de personas y fuerzas políticas y sociales ubicadas en espectros muy diversos.

Invito a que cerremos filas desde todas las orillas políticas, a quienes promueven una escalada terrorista, y el cierre del debate democratico, a apoyar la investigación de la Fiscalía y de las autoridades, a promover el diálogo sereno y constructivo.
