I've been working on something for Lollapalooza and I'm finally ready to talk about it!
It's called the Memories Project. I, along with 3 other friends from West Coast A'TIN (@_USWCA) will be going around Chicago with a Polaroid camera, taking photos of non A'TIN festival attendees, and handing them a mini kraft envelope. Inside: their photo, emoji face wipe, and 2 SB19 lyric stickers. Outside: a QR code to https://t.co/0nv1yRqCRU
I made 40 sticker designs, all lyrics. Because if someone's not a fan and you give them a sticker of an artist's face, they won't care. But lyrics are universal. And nobody throws away a photo of themselves.
That's the whole point. Give them something they actually want to keep, pair it with something relatable, and they'll start wondering who SB19 even is.
We'll be distributing them at hotels, the West Coast A'TIN shuttle, festival entrance, and even at the Chicago White Sox vs New York Yankees game.
Thanks to my West Coast A'TIN fam for helping cut, stick, and pack the stickers 😂, @MsYNA29 for printing, ate Myra for the wipes.
So excited for this! 🤗

Right now, I just want to PRAY for @SB19Official Stell, Pablo, Josh, Justin and Ken's GOOD HEALTH during these days.
Heavenly Father,
We lift up SB19 to You with grateful hearts.
We pray for their good health. Strengthen their bodies, protect them from illness, injuries, and exhaustion, and grant them the rest they need despite their busy schedules. Keep them physically fit and energized as they prepare for every rehearsal, performance, and upcoming event.
Lord, fill their hearts with renewed motivation whenever they feel tired or discouraged. Remind them that their hard work, sacrifices, and perseverance continue to touch countless lives. Surround them with people who genuinely care for them and guide them to make wise decisions for their well-being.
Grant them peace of mind, unity as a team, and the courage to overcome every challenge they may face. May they continue to enjoy what they do while staying humble, joyful, and true to themselves.
As A'TIN, we entrust them to Your loving care. May they always travel safely, perform confidently, and return home protected after every event. Bless every stage they step on, every song they sing, and every heart they inspire.
We pray that You continue to lead them toward greater success while keeping them healthy, happy, and strong in body, mind, and spirit.
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.
Warning: This is a long post. 😂
One thing I really appreciate about SB19’s recent international strategy is that they’re not relying solely on big headline moments. They’re also investing in something much harder to build but much more valuable over time: community.
This LA pop-up is a perfect example.
Instead of only showing up when there’s a concert, they’re creating smaller, grassroots experiences where fans can actually gather, meet each other, buy exclusive merchandise, enjoy Filipino food, and celebrate the culture together. These aren’t just promotional events. They’re community-building events.
From a business perspective, this is also a very smart way to grow sustainably.
A sold-out stadium concert is exciting, but it’s also expensive and risky if demand is overestimated. Community events like these provide real-world market research. You get to see:
✔️How many people actually show up.
✔️How much merchandise sells.
✔️Which cities respond the strongest.
✔️How engaged the local fanbase really is.
✔️Whether a city can support even larger events in the future.
That’s far more valuable than relying solely on streaming numbers or social media impressions. It gives the team real data to make smarter decisions about future concerts, tours, and promotional stops while minimizing the risk of overestimating demand.
Imagine the alternative.
If a tour stop has to be canceled because ticket sales aren’t meeting expectations or because the routing wasn’t planned well, the costs go far beyond unsold seats. There may be venue penalties, travel and staffing expenses, and disrupted schedules. Even more importantly, fans who were excited to attend may begin to question whether future tour announcements can be trusted. Repeated cancellations can affect an artist’s reputation not only with fans but also with promoters and venues. Thoughtful planning today helps protect both finances and credibility tomorrow.
I also love that they’re partnering with businesses of different sizes.
Of course, there are established partners, but there are also local businesses and food truck vendors. Imagine being one of those vendors, knowing you’re catering an SB19 event and serving A’TIN from all over the area. That’s as grassroots as marketing gets. These partnerships strengthen local communities while introducing more people to the group in a very organic way.
And let’s not overlook the venue itself.
Holding the event at the home of 100 Thieves, one of the biggest names in esports, is already a significant partnership. It places SB19 inside another entertainment ecosystem built around passionate, highly engaged communities. Esports fans and music fans share many similarities: they’re loyal, digitally connected, and love participating in live experiences. Even if only a fraction of that audience discovers SB19 through this collaboration, that’s meaningful long-term exposure. It also shows that the group is thinking beyond traditional music venues and finding creative ways to expand their reach.
These events also accomplish something that has always been central to SB19’s mission: sharing Filipino culture with the world alongside their music.
It’s not just about performing songs, but also about introducing people to Filipino hospitality, Filipino food and culture, and the warmth of the community. Someone may attend because they heard about the pop-up, stay for the food trucks, meet welcoming A’TIN, and leave with a completely different impression of P-pop or of the Philippines. That’s cultural diplomacy in one of its most accessible forms, something that doesn’t even require government permission or support.
Many artists focus almost exclusively on scaling as quickly as possible. SB19 seems to be taking a different approach: building a strong foundation by having a good mix of different activities.
This approach may take longer, but it also makes long-term growth more sustainable.
I wrote an essay about this before and I’m glad people catching up to #SB19’s marketing brilliance. They’re marathon runners, not sprinters. Calculated. Consistent. Unbothered. Hindi sila “ningas kugon”… IYKYK. They’re not chasing clout… they’re building a legacy that lasts.
And let’s not forget: they disrupted the industry from day one by starting their own company. No shortcuts, no handouts… just vision and guts.
That solid foundation, paired with fiercely loyal fans, is exactly why brands line up for them. #SB19 and A’TIN? That’s not just a fandom… it’s a powerhouse built on real trust. Stable. Proven. Untouchable.
And the real flex? They carry the Philippine flag with them everywhere, effortlessly. No gimmicks, no ego…just pure talent, pride, and humility. Always grounded, even as they keep rising.
I have never been prouder to be a part of a fandom…
