10.10.1988- Jaito Mandi (Faridkot)- Lala Bhagwan Dass (64), who hailed from a family of freedom fighters was shot dead by Khalistani Sikh terrorists, at his shop at 11 am. His 2 gunmen, a nearby shopkeeper Sh. Ram Kumar and a farmer sitting at his shop were also killed by terrorists.

Lala Bhagwan Dass was an Ex Minister of Punjab and had been honoured at Jaito on 21.9.1988, by the then PM Sh. Rajeev Gandhi, for his contribution during freedom struggle.

2. Kurali (Ropar)- Punjab Police Head Constable Sh. Paramjit Singh and Constable Sh. Ram Lal were shot dead on Gosla - Singhpura Road, while they were on night patrolling duty.

3. Maqsoodan , Jalandhar- Sh. Baldev Parshad, Chowkidar at SAIL godown was shot dead by 3 terrorists at 10 in the night, when he came out of godown to go to his office. After that, those terrorists killed Clerk Sh. Sudhir Kumar, inside the SAIL Complex.

4. Vill. Bhadial (P.S.Gharinda) Amritsar-A Hindu shopkeeper Sh. Narinder Kumar was shot dead at his home.

10.10.1992- Vill. Tur (Tarn Taran)- Sh. Ashok Kumar and his nephew were kidnapped by Khalistani Sikh terrorists, while they were returning home after doing some shopping in Amritsar.

Terrorists allowed his nephew to go home and bring ransom money for release of Sh. Ashok Kumar. His nephew came back after some time with his weapons and armed relatives.

They fired at terrorists killing one terrorist and capturing another terrorist but before that the terrorists killed Sh. Ashok Kumar.

9.10.1987- Village Aima Mangat (Mukerian) Hoshiarpur- 5 Khalistani Sikh terrorists fired indiscriminately on Hindus at shop of Sh. Sham Lal, Dr. Gurdayal, shop of Sh. Balak Ram, a liquor shop and gateman at a railway crossing. In the firing, Sh. Malkit Singh, a Hindu working as Sr. Lecturer at Jahanpur was killed on spot and many people were injured, of which S/Sh. Mangal Dass and Sham Lal were critically wounded. 6 bullets were fired at Sh. Malkit Singh, who was popularly known as Master.

2. Village Seron (Amritsar)- Sh. Varinder Kumar was killed by Khalistanis.

3.Vill. Banke (P.S.Bhikhiwind) Amritsar- At 8 pm, 3 Khalistani Sikh terrorists forcibly entered house of a shopkeeper Sh. Telu Ram and fired at him and his nephew Sh. Subhash Chand (23), killing both of them on spot.

10.10.1986- Harowal Road, Dera Baba Nanak, Batala- Late in the night, 4 Hindu friends were returning home after watching Ram Leela. On the way, they saw 4 terrorists Kanwaljit Singh Kanta, Ranjeet Singh Rana, Balwinder Singh Thetharke and Bhupindar Singh Pakhoke. Kanwaljit Singh belonged to their village.

The terrorists fired at them, fearing that they may inform police about their presence in the area. In the firing, Sh. Trilok Chand was killed on spot and his brother Sh. Desraj was injured. 2 others managed to run away and informed nearby BSF post.

After sometime, BSF & Police surrounded these terrorists at tubewell of Balwinder Singh. In the encounter, one terrorist was killed and one was arrested, while 2 managed to escape.

Kanwaljit Singh Kanta was son of a senior BSF officer and had killed a Punjab Police Inspector Sh. Kundan Singh, in village Harowal, during September 1986.

10.10.1984- Village Harchowal (P.S.Fatehgarh Churian) Batala- At 11.30 in the night, a young Hindu shopkeeper Sh. Darshan Kumar Bindra was shot dead by Khalistani Sikh terrorists, while he was sleeping outside his shop.

2. Phagwara - At 9.30 in the night, two Khalistani Sikh terrorists forcibly stopped Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhardwaj in Satnampura area near Basant Vihar Bagh. Doctor was returning home on his scooter after closing his clinic in Hadiabad. Since Dr. Ashok Kumar was physically very strong, he caught hold of one terrorist and thrashed him. At that time, second terrorist fired at his chest from close range and ran away. Despite serious injuries and continuous flow of blood, he drove his scooter for 2 kms. and reached his home.

He was taken to Civil Hospital Phagwara and then to CMC Ludhiana, where he passed away after 2 days.
