The North Bay OPP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying two persons of interest in a break and enter that occurred on a rural property in Papineau-Cameron Township.

On Saturday June 20, 2026, around 9:50 p.m., the two individuals were observed wearing dark clothing, face coverings, and backpacks. One suspect appeared to be carrying bolt cutters.

#HuronOPP officers, along with Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), West Region OPP K-9 and Emergency Response Team (ERT), conducted two traffic stops and executed a search warrant in #Goderich which resulted in two arrests, drug charges, cash, suspected cocaine, and a vehicle seized. A 28-year-old Goderich resident and a 57-year-old Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township resident have been charged with drug offences. Total value of drugs, cash and vehicle seized is over $16,000. #huroncounty #OPP #warrant #drugbust #teamwork ^cs.

On Tuesday, June 24, 2026, Marathon OPP conducted Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Enforcement within the town of Marathon. Multiple vehicles were taken out of service, including this truck and trailer combination.

This combination was placed out of service due to the trucks emergency/parking brake being inoperative, the trailer’s electric service brakes being inoperative, the trailer’s emergency break-away system being inoperative, and the driver not holding a proper licence for the combination. It is to be noted the vehicle was also roughly 5,300kg overweight.

3 charges were issued and 6 warnings were given. ^elm

Le mardi 24 juin 2026, la Police provinciale de l’Ontario (OPP) de Marathon a mené une opération de contrôle des véhicules utilitaires (CMV) dans la ville de Marathon. Plusieurs véhicules ont été mis hors service, notamment cet ensemble camion-remorque.

Cet ensemble a été mis hors service en raison du dysfonctionnement du frein de secours et du frein de stationnement du camion, du dysfonctionnement des freins de service électriques de la remorque, du dysfonctionnement du système de freinage d'urgence de la remorque, ainsi que du fait que le conducteur ne détenait pas le permis requis pour conduire cet ensemble. Il convient de noter que le véhicule présentait également un surpoids d'environ 5 300 kg.

Trois contraventions ont été dressées et six avertissements ont été donnés. ^elm

We were truly honoured to be able to attend this event, and had an amazing time getting to know members of the community we don’t often get to interact with. Jordan Sangwin, wanted on a Canada-wide warrant following a double homicide, was last seen near High Park in Toronto around 11 p.m. last night and is believed to be travelling on foot.

Desc: Medium build, short salt & pepper hair, clean shaven. Wearing: Grey long sleeve shirt, dark shorts and carrying a black duffle bag.

He should be considered armed and dangerous. Do NOT approach. Call 911 immediately if seen.

Intimate Partner Violence Investigation – One Person Charged

Brant County OPP has charged one individual following an intimate partner violence investigation.

On June 22, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in the County of Brant. A 40‑year‑old Brant County resident was arrested and charged with:

Assault – Spousal,
Mischief – Destroying or Damaging Property.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford via Zoom.

Brant County OPP reminds the public that living in a shared home does not give anyone the right to damage property belonging to a partner.

Support is available for anyone experiencing intimate partner violence. Contact the Assaulted Women’s Helpline at 1‑866‑863‑0511, or reach out to your local police service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

Enquête sur des faits de violence entre conjoints – Une personne inculpée
La Police provinciale de l’Ontario (OPP) du comté de Brant a inculpé une personne à la suite d’une enquête sur des faits de violence entre conjoints.

Le 22 juin 2026, vers 17 h 30, des agents sont intervenus suite à un incident survenu dans une résidence du comté de Brant. Un résident du comté de Brant, âgé de 40 ans, a été arrêté et inculpé des chefs d’accusation suivants :

voies de fait – entre conjoints,

méfait – destruction ou endommagement de biens.
L’accusé a été placé en détention en attendant une audience de mise en liberté sous caution et doit comparaître devant la Cour de justice de l’Ontario à Brantford par Zoom.

La Police provinciale de l’Ontario du comté de Brant rappelle au public que le fait de vivre sous le même toit ne donne à personne le droit d’endommager les biens appartenant à son partenaire.

#HuronOPP hosted their 1st annual "Huron Youth Leadership Academy", which was held over nine Wednesday evenings. Huron County high school students from grades 9-12 participated. The students learned about various aspects of policing over the course of the academy. A total of 14 youth graduated and received certificates, door prizes, and a cake to celebrate their success! One of our goals was to introduce policing as a career to local students and show them what we do! This special community event brought together families, children, healthcare professionals, and community partners for a day filled with fun, learning, and connection. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces enjoying activities, meeting first responders, and spending time with their favourite teddy bears.
