@SafanaIsmail1 Be yourself and show up with the mindset to learn. Don't be shy to ask questions, and say you don't know when needed. Read and update yourself whenever you can.
Don't forget your mental well being in the busy residency. Take rest and do what makes you feel happy whenever you can
@GhobrielNaglaa Thank you! I only used UW and https://t.co/k5utpcXM9G. Barely used first aid step 1 to understand some topics. The study duration was pretty much fragmented due to busy schedule of intern year but I would say around 8-10 weeks in total.
Being helpful isn't about pleasing people. It's about making a unique contribution.
If you never say no, people don't respect your time. If you're thoughtful about when you give, they're more selective in their asks.
The goal isn't to be needed. It's to add value and be valued.
It isn't always best to speak up right away. Strategic silence can amplify your voice.
Evidence: people are more likely to be heard when they wait until (a) the issue is relevant, (b) they’re ready, and (c) the audience is responsive.
Fools rush in. Wise people bide their time.
The true leader in a group is rarely the person who talks the most. It's usually the person who listens best.
Listening is more than hearing what’s said. It’s noticing and surfacing what isn’t said.
Inviting dissenting views and amplifying quiet voices are acts of leadership.
@nehazard7 Let's not generalize this! Such things do happen in some government hospitals but not all. So there should NOT be a blanket statement that women are treated badly in Indian government hospitals.
I have to say that I don't like the "#gasgang" hashtag being used by medical students applying for #anesthesiology residency.
This video from @CSAHQ captures many of the reasons why I ❤ being an anesthesiologist

@IndiaPostOffice my international packet has not been delivered at its destination yet and tracking has stopped showing any updates. Please help with this issue.
Amazes me that people still don’t get it. Health insurance companies don’t care about you. They want to extract money from your healthy body until you are no longer healthy, then they want you to die as quickly as possible so they can focus on other money producing bodies.
There is a research opportunity in Medicine available in my mentor's lab (Dr. Laura Crotty Alexander) at UC San Diego. Please DM if anyone is interested!
