To people who don’t want jargon on “Vijay-Governor issue”:

1. TVK has 108 seats.
2. Majority needed to form govt is 118.
3. Even with Congress coalition, they are still short
4. Senior ex AIADMK, now TVK leader Sengottaiyan, advised TVK to go to the Governor as the “single largest party.”
5. In that case, Governor could have invited them first & then asked them to prove majority later on the floor.
6. But instead, TVK went with a coalition claim including Congress MLAs.
7. Now, the moment you officially claim coalition support, the constitutional kicks in of proof.
8. That is why Governor reportedly asked for proof of majority support under Article 164.
9. So technically, TVK did NOT go as a single largest party the way followers are portraying it.

That’s false. Governor of West Bengal can call incumbent Chief Minister to prove majority on the floor of the Legislative Assembly. If they lose the floor test, they are constitutionally bound to resign.

Otherwise, as under Article 164, the Chief Minister holds office “during the pleasure of the Governor.” If the CM has clearly lost the mandate (election results) and refuses to resign, the Governor can withdraw pleasure and dismiss them.

Governor, under convention and constitutional practice, is obligated to invite the leader of the party/alliance commanding majority in the newly elected House to form the government. The outgoing CM has no legal standing to block this once the new House is constituted.

President’s rule is the last resort.

At one point; you are enjoying the win in Keralam and where you or your alliance lost, that is being labelled as theft.
Why so much spineless nature is on the display?

Be a person who can accept defeat gracefully.

This is the known fact that WB elections always witnessed bloodshed, so this time EC decided to go extra hard and provide security at the level that did, now did you see any bloodshed in WB? No! This is the result of what?
Even if one life is getting saved, forget of what actually EC was able to achieve by this exercise but even if one single is getting saved than, is this not a win of a democracy?

Mamta is unable to digest this defeat, so does you and your party and alliance people.

People of WB have given their mandate, see the emotions on display, if you can not see, you are nothing but blind and would never come back in power again.
