The biggest opportunity I see in NYC right now is a tech company bringing back the $1 slice of pizza as a side quest.
Insane marketing potential + cement your legacy as the saviour of the $1 slice.
Things I’ve learnt in the first 48 hours of 2026:
- Life feels more vibrant with people who bring out the best in you.
- You can’t compete with someone who is just having fun.
- Third spaces are an integral part of society.
- Spontaneity paired with intention creates the best memories.
- Embarrassment is an underexplored emotion.
- Things won’t change unless you change things.
@Emily_Sundberg Blogs had external ads to monetize, which probably directed the content to be written in a way that was salesy.
On Substack, the main way to monetize is to write so well, people want to pay to hear your thoughts and opinions.
We’re not reading ads anymore.
