कुछ बरसों से बार-बार अनेक लोगों द्वारा कहा जा रहा है “धोबी का कुत्ता न घर का न घाट का” कहावत ठीक नहीं है, और सच्ची कहावत है “धोबी का कुतका न घर का न घाट का”। कई लोकप्रिय हिन्दीभाषी अभिनेता और पत्रकार भी डटकर यह कह चुके हैं, जिससे अनेक लोग इस बात को मानने लगे हैं।

सच यह है “धोबी का कुत्ता न घर का न घाट का” ही सच्ची कहावत है। हितोपदेश में एक धोबी के कुत्ते की कथा आती है और सम्भवतः यह कहावत वहीं से आई है। सोलहवीं/सत्रहवीं शताब्दी में गोस्वामी तुलसीदास ने कवितावली में “धोबी कै सो कूकर न घर को न घाट को” ऐसा प्रयोग किया है। सत्रहवीं शताब्दी में निपट निरंजन ने अपने काव्य में “धोबी का कुत्ता रहा, घर का न घाट का” ऐसा प्रयोग किया है। “धोबी का कुत्ता न घर का न घाट का” के विविध रूपों के अनेक पुस्तकों और कोशों में प्रमाण हैं।

इसके विपरीत “धोबी का कुतका न घर का न घाट का” ऐसी कहावत न किसी ऐताहिसिक साहित्यिक कृति में है और न किसी कोश में। ऐसी कहावत कभी थी ही नहीं, यह केवल सामाजिक संचार शोधशाला (Social Media Research Institute) और काहो विश्वविद्यालय (WhatsApp University) की उपज है।

🚨Security Alert As 'Ex-US Navy' Man Held After 8 Months Illegal Stay In India

A man claiming to be a former US Navy serviceman was arrested near the India-Nepal. He was without a passport or valid travel documents, according to police.

Authorities said the 36-year-old claimed he entered India via Sri Lanka in November 2025 after losing his passport in Thailand. He allegedly travelled through Goa and Bengaluru before attempting to cross into Nepal through an unauthorised border route, where he was detained by authorities.

Police said he gave contradictory statements during questioning, and his claims are being verified.
