Ferrari doesn't deserve Leclerc
Year after year, what happens at Ferrari is ridiculous. It´s the team that has the moral and financial obligation to fight for victories and podiums in every race, and for many years now, except for a few moments of brilliance, they have failed to meet their objectives.
Their drivers have to save their races GP after GP, and on top of that, the treatment and statements made about them in the media are truly embarrassing.
Leclerc has been showing exceptional driving ability and talent for years, and there have been countless occasions when the team has deprived the Monegasque driver of good results.
In 2019, his debut year, he experienced first-hand major mistakes by the team, costing him up to 5❗️potential victories in Bahrain, Austria, Singapore, Russia and Mexico. Not to mention the mechanical failures in qualifying in Monaco.
2020 was a complete disaster, with the car's performance absolutely embarrassing.
In 2021, Leclerc unfairly lost the duel against his teammate due to a number of factors beyond his control. This was largely the result of strategic errors and poor decisions by the team.
In 2022, Leclerc would surely not have been able to beat Max Verstappen due to some serious mistakes he made on the track, but even if he hadn't made them, it would still have been impossible to fight him with a car with disastrous reliability accompanied by pathetic strategic decisions that meant he miraculously saved 2nd place in the championship.
The 2023 season welcomed him with an engine failure that left him without a podium finish. It is true that 2024 may have been the most stable year for the team, with better results that allowed them to compete for the constructors' championship until the last race. What did they do after that? They dropped one of their drivers who was performing extremely competitively and changed the car design for the final year of regulation evolution.
What can we say about the current situation? In a year where Mercedes opted for an inexperienced driver and Red Bull is only competing with one car, they have lost the fight for the constructors' championship several races ago, leaving behind results that are hard to believe, such as the double disqualification for different irregularities in China, inexplicable strategies and yesterday, when Leclerc did magic to start first and manage to lead most of the race against two far superior McLarens, Charles was forced to give up due to a mechanical problem that caused him to be almost two seconds slower per lap.
The image that the team and the brand are projecting is embarrassingly poor, and their drivers do not deserve it.
