This is Simon Levy.

He had been convicted of 13 sexual assaults since July 2018.

Yet he was still walking the streets of London in January 2025.

He then (allegedly) met a woman who said he jumped on her, broke her collarbone, strangled her and held her down while he raped her. She was left for dead. She managed to survive. The woman picked Levy out of a line-up.

A few months later, in April 2025, Levy was again connected to the murder of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo. She had been found dead in the stairwell of an abandoned building in South London. Levy’s DNA was found at the scene and on her body. He was arrested at this point but released pending further investigation.

What were the police thinking?

Just a few months later, in August 2025, Levy met a third victim, Sheryl Wilkins in the same car park in which the first rape victim had been attacked. Sheryl’s body was found with 83 wounds on it and Levy’s DNA was all over her.

Sheryl would still be alive if the police had kept him in custody.

Sheryl and Carmenza would still be alive if he had actually received any meaningful sentence for the 13 sexual assaults committed in the previous 7 years!

I support Ukraine. I support sanity. I support ending American support for the war immediately.

I am frankly sick and angered by the sea of well-meaning westerners who have, for 4 1/2 years blindly endorsed continuing American and European military support for Zelensky to keep fighting. Their sentiments are laudable at first blush, but catastrophic in their negative impact on the very ppl and nation we ostensibly seek to help.

The reality is this war should never have started (and yes, Putin pulled the trigger on February 24, 2022 - but we laid the foundation eight years earlier when we supported the overthrow of the legally elected government and, of course, continue pressing a military alliance up to the border of Russia). We had many chances to protect Ukrainian ppl and safeguard Ukrainian independence and security with diplomacy - but rejected every opportunity and instead chose a path we knew would lead to war.

The Ukrainian people have been paying the price for our inability and unwillingness to take the diplomatic off ramps that have existed over the years.

Always the same tired tropes from Western leaders - like Boris Johnson last week - claiming we care about the people of Ukraine and thus want to keep a war going that literally destroys Ukraine, its cities, and it’s people. We provide nothing but misery and the capacity to endure more suffering to them.

I care, deeply, about the actual people in Ukraine and advocate the ending of a war that WILL NEVER BE WON, at the earliest possible date. To ignore that military reality is to condemn even more Ukrainian ppl to pointless death.

Swiss farmers planted flowers between their crops and watched pest damage drop by over half. The UK is now running the same trial across 15 farms. The reason this works is embarrassingly simple.

A Swiss study on winter wheat found that fields with wildflower strips had 40 to 53% fewer leaf beetle pests than fields without. Crop damage dropped 61%.

The mechanism is simple. Wildflowers feed hoverflies, lacewings, parasitic wasps, ladybugs, and ground beetles. Those insects eat the aphids, beetle larvae, and caterpillars that farmers would otherwise spray for. A few meters of wildflowers hosts an unpaid pest control crew that would jump at the chance to whoop some aphid ass.

In apple orchards where no insecticides had been used for five years, plots with wildflower alleyways had 9.2% damaged fruit. Control plots without flowers had 32.5%.

The UK is now running a five-year trial across 15 farms placing 6-meter flower strips through the middle of fields, not just at the edges, because the beneficial insects can't reach the center of a large field otherwise.

This works the same way in a backyard vegetable garden as it does on a commercial farm. Plant native flowering species near your tomatoes, beans, and squash. The pests still show up, but the predators show up too.
