Correct move by @cenbank Monetary Policy Committee to dramatically hike the Monetary Policy Rate by 400 basis point to 22.5 %. The situation calls for nothing less if we are to check inflation over 12-18 months. We did the same a decade ago to bring inflation from 14% to 8%.

This morning I received a call that passengers of a particular airline were stranded due to weather. Passengers did not believe the airline, and so calls were made. I rushed to the airport to engage passengers and investigate. I spoke with NIMET, the airline's station manager, and my CPOs. Turned out that the airline did not lie as I demanded to sight the aircraft on ground. Passengers understood in the end, and the flight was cancelled - and rescheduled for tomorrow. Among the passengers was the seasoned journalist and presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Omoyele Sowore, who remained calm through the situation. He also offered possible solutions for reducing flight disruptions in Nigeria.
