She was harassed and verbally abused by another doctor named Muhammad Mijanur Rahman.

When she complained, she and her friends were held captive inside the office of the principal for 12 hours. She was threatened over the phone.

Now, she is traumatized and in fear.

#Modi must decide what he wants to do with #Bangladesh. The government failed to protect #ChinmayPrabhu, who gave a voice to #BangladeshiHindus. Yunus has kept him behind bars since November.

Meanwhile, India has given refuge to A.K.M. Bahauddin Bahar, a communal MP trusted by Hasina. This man, now living in Kolkata, was responsible for multiple riots against Hindus. Why? It’s understandable to give refuge to Hasina if there is a political rationale. But does that mean we must also shelter outright scoundrels?

I must add here: I have personally noticed that too many officials handling Bangladesh are outright insensitive to the plight of Bangladeshi Hindus. For example, the head of the Indian mission branch in Chattogram attended Bahar’s programme even after he called Durga Puja a “festival of alcohol.” I wrote about this in a 2023 column.
