Between 03.03.2026 and 10.03.2026, Mumbai Customs Zone–III (Airport) effected significant seizures including 12.530 kgs of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed), valued at approximately Rs. 12.530 crores in the illicit market and 409 grams Gold valued at Rs. 49.9 lacs.
06 passengers were arrested.
On 17th March 2026, the Customs Officers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (CSMI) Airport, Mumbai Customs Zone-III undertook a significant disposal drive of seized narcotic substances in accordance with the prescribed legal and environmental guidelines. During this exercise, a total of 216.527 kilograms of Hydroponic Weed, having an assessed value of ₹217.987 crores were disposed of in a safe and secure manner. The destruction was carried out through incineration at the facilities of Mumbai Waste Management Limited, MIDC Taloja, ensuring compliance with statutory procedures and environmental safety norms. This exercise underscores the firm resolve of the Customs Department to prevent illicit drugs from re-entering society. During the financial year 2025-26, a total of 615.052 kilograms of Hydroponic Weed, having an assessed value of ₹617.151 crores, total 7.242 kilograms of Cocaine, valued at ₹72.988 crores along with 7.609 kilograms of Ganja valued at ₹8.909 crores were also disposed of.
On 17.03.2026, Mumbai Customs Zone–III (Airport) effected seizure of 64.394 kgs of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed), valued at approximately Rs. 64.394 crores in the illicit market.
04 passengers (including 01 foreign passenger) were arrested.
During financial year 2025-26, total 1010.842 kilograms of NDPS drugs valued at around Rs 1079 crores have been destroyed by the CSMI Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III. The last lot in this destruction drive was carried out on 27th March 2026, whereby 376.552 Kg narcotic substances was disposed in accordance with the prescribed legal and environmental guidelines in a safe and secure manner. This exercise underscores the firm resolve of the Customs Department to prevent illicit drugs from re-entering society and also underscore its commitment towards a drug free society in line with Government of India’s ‘Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan’.
During the period from 24.02.2026 to 02.03.2026, officers of the Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone–III effected significant seizures. A total of 455 carats of natural and lab-grown diamonds valued at Rs.94,97,300/-, foreign and Indian currency equivalent to Rs.32,85,668/-, 21 Kt Gold Broken Jewellery having net weight 160.790 grams valued at Rs.21,51,473/- and 1203.69 carats of Cut & Polished Natural Emeralds, Rubies, Blue Sapphires, Amethyst, Prasiolite and Multi valued at Rs.15,16,127/-, 44.292 kgs of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed) valued at approximately Rs. 44.292 crores in the illicit market and 299 grams of an NDPS substance purported to be methaqualone, having illicit market value of Rs.74,75,000/- were seized.
From 04 to 11 February, 2026, Mumbai Customs Zone–III (Airport) recorded major seizures including 16.756 kgs. of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed) valued at Rs.16.756 crores, 246.75 carats of Natural & Lab grown Diamonds worth Rs.38.28 lakhs, 104 grams of 24K gold worth Rs. 15.24 lakhs and foreign currency worth ₹1.13 crores in multiple cases.
8 passengers were arrested.
Between 11th to 17th February, 2026, Mumbai Customs Zone-III (Airport) effected significant seizures including 24.361 kgs of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed) valued at about Rs. 24.361 Crores r in the illicit market across 06 cases and 1336.62 grams Gold worth Rs. 1.85 crore across 03 cases.

On 10.02.2026, Mumbai Customs Zone–III (Airport) recorded a rare seizure of Antique Coins (Gold and Silver Coins). The details are as under:
1. Gold Coin weighing 12.37 grams : East India Company, Bengal Presidency, Gold Mohur, Murshidabad Mint, in the name of Shah Alam II, AH 1202/RY 19.
2. Gold Coin weighing 8.00 grams: Ancient Kushan Empire, Huvishka, Gold Dinar.
3. Silver Coin weighing 11.44 grams : Mughal, Jahangir, Silver Rupee, Zodiac Sign Cancer, Ahmadabad Mint.

During this exercise, a total of 184.838 kilograms of Hydroponic Weed, having an assessed value of ₹186.3 crores, 4.587 kilograms of Cocaine valued at ₹46.278 crores along with 7.609 kilograms of Ganja valued at ₹8.909 crores were disposed of in a safe and secure manner. The destruction was carried out through incineration at the facilities of Mumbai Waste Management Limited, MIDC Taloja, ensuring compliance with statutory procedures and environmental safety norms. Moreover, during the period Apr 2025 to January 2026, a total of 413.376 Kg of NDPS substance worth approximately Rs 481.061 crore was disposed by way of destruction by CSMI Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III. This exercise underscores the firm resolve of the Customs Department to prevent illicit drugs from re-entering society.
On 04.10 2025, the officers at Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, recovered Foreign Currency equivalent to Rs. 1.07 crores across 02 cases. The said Currency was found concealed in the hand bag carried by the passengers. 02 passengers were arrested.
The officers at Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, made a seizure of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed) weighing 34.207 Kgs having an illicit market value of approx. Rs. 34.207 crores, across 03 cases. In total, 05 passengers were arrested.
During the duty of 08-11.10.2025, the officers at Airport, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, made a seizure of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed) weighing 44.012 Kgs having an illicit market value of approx. Rs. 44.012 crores and recovered wildlife Species Pacman Frogs ,Colombian Dwarf Tarantula, Tarantula, Red Tegu, Argentine Black and White Tegu, Rainbow Boa, Honduran Milk Snake, California Kingsnake, Aldabra Giant Tortoise, Common Cuscus, Green Iguana, Bearded Dragon, Common Blue Tongued Skink across 08 cases. 10 passengers were arrested in the cases.
During the duty of 20-21st October, the officers at Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, made a seizure of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed) weighing 19.786 Kgs having an illicit market value of approx. Rs. 19.786 crores across 02 cases. 03 passengers were arrested.
On 23.10.2025, the officers at Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, intercepted a passenger arriving from Bangkok and recovered wildlife species including Corn Snake, Hognose Snake,Yellow Anaconda, Yellow Footed Tortoise, Red Footed Tortoise, Albino Snapping Turtle, Armadillo Lizard, Iguana spp., Water Monitor Lizard, Bearded Dragon and Raccoon. The animals were concealed in the trolley bag carried by the passenger. 01 passenger was arrested.
The officers at Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, made a seizure of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed) weighing 12.418 Kgs having an illicit market value of approx. Rs. 12.418 crores across 03 cases and recovered Apple iphone 17 pro max (40pcs), Laptops, cigarettes, liquor bottles valued at Rs. 56.55 Lakh in 01 case.
09 passengers were arrested.
During the duty of 29-30.10.2025, the officers at Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, made a seizure of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed) weighing 7.97 Kgs having an illicit market value of approx. Rs. 7.97 crores in 01 case and recovered Silvery Gibbon(Hylobates Moloch), an endangered species -02 Nos.(01 live and 01 dead) in another case.
02 passengers were arrested.
During the duty of 06–09.11.2025, officers of Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III seized 13.84 kg of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed) worth approx. ₹13.84 crore across 4 cases, and 358 g of 22 KT melted gold valued at ₹37,74,215 in another case. Six passengers arrested.
During the duty of 10-12.11.2025, the officers at Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, made a seizure of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed) weighing 20.645 Kgs having an illicit market value of approx. Rs. 20.645 crores across 04 cases, and recovered 24 KT Gold Dust in Wax (04 pouches) and gold bars having total weight of 1.659 Kg valued at Rs. 1.90 Cr across 02 cases A seizure of foreign currency of USD 15000 equivalent to INR 13.16 Lakh in 01 case was also made by the Customs team.
07 persons were arrested in total and further investigation is underway.

During the duty from 3rd-10th December 2025, officers of the Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone–III, effected significant seizures. A total of 43.263 kg of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed), valued at approximately Rs. 43.263 crores in the illicit market, were recovered across 10 cases. In addition, officers seized 1256 grams of Gold valued at Rs. 151.06 lacs from 04 passengers across 04 cases and Diamonds valued at Rs. 87.75 lacs from 01 passenger across 01 case. A total of 12 passengers were arrested in connection with these cases.
During the duty from 11th-15th December 2025, officers of the Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone–III, effected significant seizures. A total of 33.422 kg of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed), valued at approximately Rs. 33.422 crores in the illicit market, were recovered across 08 cases. A total of 11 passengers were arrested in connection with these cases.
