@LeeFoo9 This verse does not, in any way, shape or form, prove solo scriptura. The new Testament wasn't in existence at the time St. Paul wrote this. Sola scriptura isn't even what he is writing about.
@pattyrikku@BreeSolstad Jesus was speaking to the Apostles, i.e., his Church. He also gave them the power to bind and loose on earth and heaven. This is the magisterial teaching office I told you about. Protastantism has no way of binding and loosing. This does not apply to every man with a Bible.
@pattyrikku@BreeSolstad Correct, if it's interpreted accurately. Without the magisterial teaching office of Christs Church, you get countless interpretations, rewriting of history, and numerous sects of Christianity all claiming to be their own Pope. How do you know yours is correct?
@pattyrikku@BreeSolstad Limiting God's abilities to scripture only isn't convincing. St. Paul says the Church is the pillar and bulwark of truth, not anyone with a bible. I am certain you do not understand this term that's used to describe Mother Mary's special role that God graced her with.
@LizzieMarbach@BreeSolstad@catholicpat Bowing for me but not for thee. Distintion for me but not for thee. Not worship for me, but worship for thee. Got it! You are defending a meme that shows no worshipping on either side, yet you claim one side IS worshipping...just not "your" side.
@adelethelaptop Bowing does not mean worship. That's my understanding of this image. You are upset about the very thing you are doing here.
Bowing for me, but not for thee...that's my understanding of your rant.
It's not a graven image, but a beautiful representation of our Blessed Mother.
@KenJr86110480 @Chad4328 Generalizations, feelings??? The early reformers were not church fathers. The Church Fathers are the early witnesses to Christianity, and, yes, human beings. They are Catholic. You don't understand St. Paul, because you quoted him out of context.
@KenJr86110480 @Chad4328 More generalizations about people you don't agree with based on your infallible misinterpreted proof texting. You actually don't understand. Even the early reformers believed in Mary's sinlessness. Why? Because they WERE educated Catholics. Educate yourself before judging.
@pattyrikku@BreeSolstad Lol. Quoting the Bible only isn't what makes one a Christian. Satan can quote the Bible. You don't get to arbitrarily choose who is Christian and who is not. You are not God. Truth can be quoted from sources outside the Bible. You can disagree, but that won't change the truth.
@KenJr86110480 @Chad4328 I don't think you understand what you are reading or what heresy is. Taking verses out of context, interpreting them to contradict other verses won't work. You must understand the bible as a whole, not just to use it as a proof text type of weapon. Mary is in the old and new.
@KenJr86110480 @Chad4328 You are taking the ALL in that passage out of context. St Paul is writing to jews and greeks...the all is that there is no distintion between THEM. He is also quoting from Psalm 14. It's Catholic Church, Roman is one of 24 Rites in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
@user_a49084 @Chad4328 My question was, where in the Bible does it say Mary committed sin. If the Bible is your only source for truth, where is this truth. It is possible to be full of grace. God prophesied in Genesis 3:15 that he would put enmity between the woman, her seed, and Satan. Mary & Jesus.
@HGGamer934@farmingandJesus She doesn't use context. Look it up for yourself. She didn't because truth isn't what she cares about. It's like listening to a politician.
@farmingandJesus@WWUTTcom You have posted some pretty cruel nonsense numerous times in the name of "love." Catholics, try to correct you, and you call it hate, then play a victim. Maybe try listening. Or better yet, DO stop trying to proselytize fellow Christians. I will continue to pray for you.
@discarn8 @Chad4328 This makes no sense. God is the God of the living, not the dead. How can Mary be dead but still worshiping her Savior in Heaven? Please explain using only the bible.
