Tagad baigā ņemšanās ap NVO. Ņemot vērā to, ka arī mēs esam NVO, tad man ar ir šis tas sakāms. Man sakāmais ir tikai un vienīgi saistībā ar to jomu, kurā mēs darbojamies. Ar citām jomām man nav pilnīgi nekāda saistība un arī saprašana nav. Tātad. Naudu NVO ir jādod. Ne man spriest par to, cik daudz un kam tā jādod. Mani ļoti uztrauc kas cits. Tā ir klusēšana. Klusēšana par cēloņiem. Klusēšana par politiķu aroganci, liekulību un cinismu lēmumu pieņemšanā, kuri rada cēloņus jauniešu iesaistei noziedzīgos darījumos, jauniešu nonākšanai vidē, kurā viņi kļūst par narkotiku lietotājiem, kurā nereti kļūst par izvarošanas upuriem, cilvēktirdzniecības upuriem…cēloņiem dēļ kuriem jaunieši nonāk prostitūcijā. Man pat ir grūti uzskaitīt visu to, kādas šiem cēloņiem ir sekas. Ļoti daudzi, kuri darbojas ar jauniešiem šo visu zin, bet klusē. Kāpēc? Vai bail kļūt neērtiem? It kā tik daudziem rūp tas, kas notiek ar jauniešiem, bet tanī pat laikā tik daudzi klusē. Jo ilgāk tiek klusēts, jo arvien vairāk jauniešus mēs zaudējam. Jaunieši tak esot mūsu nākotne.

If the Russians seriously wanted to end the war, they'd focus on diplomacy—not on missile strikes, blackouts, and even attempts to damage our nuclear power plants.

We have information about the sites Russia reconnoitered in preparation for strikes. Everything clearly shows that diplomacy is not a priority for Russia.

This must be acknowledged. And pressure on the aggressor and the real cause of this war must continue. The cause is in Moscow.

What is happening in Iran now – large-scale protests, effectively an uprising – is a clear sign that things won’t get easier for Russia.

And every decent person on this planet truly wants the people of Iran to finally free themselves from the current regime that has brought so much evil to Ukraine and to other countries.

It is crucial that the world does not miss this moment when changes are possible. Every leader, every country, and international organizations must step in now and help the people remove those guilty of what Iran has sadly become.

Everything can be different.

Russia invaded Ukraine.
Ukraine defends itself and seeks peace, engaging in good faith in a US-brokered peace plan. Russia sabotages peace talks with false claims while bombing civilians, leaving them without power and heat. This is not the behavior of a country that seeks peace.

Ukraine did not start this war. Russia started it. Ukraine supported President Trump’s proposal for a ceasefire. Ukraine has agreed to many different compromises, and this is documented in our draft agreements, in our 20-point plan. Ukraine is willing to do whatever it takes to stop this war.

For us, priority number one – or the only priority – is ending the war. For us, the priority is peace. We need to be strong at the negotiating table. To be strong, we need the support of the world: Europe and the United States. And this includes air defenses – which are currently insufficient, weaponry – which is currently insufficient, and money – thankfully, there is now a European decision, but, frankly, there is a constant shortage of funds, in particular for the production of weapons and, most importantly, drones.

In this war of Russia against Ukraine, we want peace, and Russia demonstrates a desire to continue the war. If the whole world – Europe and America – is on our side, together we will stop Putin. Because together we will all want the same thing: an end to the war, peace – a normal peace, a sustainable peace, safe for the whole world. If anyone – whether the U.S. or Europe – is on Russia’s side, this means the war will continue. There are no other options here. And this is a risk for all countries in the world. Because Russia will not stop, regardless of any agreements, any eloquent messages from them. They will not stop at Ukraine.

Trump calls for Ukrainian presidential elections — but how many years has Russia gone without real elections?

In an interview with Politico, U.S. President Donald Trump said that Ukraine must hold presidential elections to demonstrate its commitment to democracy.

“They haven’t had elections in a long time… at some point, that’s no longer democracy,” he said.

But, for the record, Russia hasn’t had genuine competitive elections for about 20 years.
So perhaps that’s where elections should be held first?
