@LeanneHPatrick I wonder if any of the kids’ parents are polyamorous… might be nice for them and their families to feel included at school, especially during pride month 😌🏳️🌈
This seems extremely tone-deaf...
BUT
I don't begrudge these people their excellent work environment. The real question is why clinical staff are treated very differently when it's obviously not a question of resources...
Proud and honoured to speak at the @UofGlasgow MCGirr Lecture today about my undergrad work to decolonise the nursing curriculum 🩺 Thank you to @UofGNurse@ClareUoG for championing student-staff collaboration! A reason to be hopeful 🪐 excited to see what’s next with @NHSGGC 🧬
(1) Just drove home from my Night Shift to see a billboard at the Glasgow Clydeside Expressway urging parents to “protect your children from the new sex education”. No doubt this is in reference to new content on trans and non-binary health, queer love and safe sex practice 🧵
(3) Queer kids need love, security and accurate information about their personal safety, available support networks and their human rights. None of them need to see this billboard on their way to school. 🧵
@sanditoksvig at the @KingsandRoyal WONDERFUL. FANTASTICAL. MAGICAL. I would very much like us to be friends. We would eat cake and talk about cool things like women and politics and the history of women in politics. Actually, we will. I manifest it 🙏
Fab day @theRCN Education Forum - speaking on my contribution to decolonising nurse education at @UofGlasgow 🦠👩🎓 first-time conference go-er AND speaker! Proud to be part of this essential work and show the power of student x staff collabs 🤝 @ClareUoG@UofGNurse#RCNED22
Wonderful chat with a nurse this morning who said “learn to twinkle”. She explained that even when we have so much to do on the wards just giving patients and families a smile and nod, even if you don’t have time to sit with them, will make them feel like you care #Twinkle
Hannah Baker dives into why it's so important for nurses to take care of themselves! As she puts it: "Fostering self-compassion is fundamental to enabling compassion and empathy towards others." Agreed! #Nursing#MentalHealth

In Scotland you can now self-refer for a forensic exam if you have been raped or sexually assaulted. NHS SARCS will keep DNA evidence for 26 months, giving you time to decide if you want to make a police report.

New blog post on #TheCosmicDisorder ! 🚀 https://t.co/9pWXPmmisN Not work related this time 👩🏻⚕️ Something different I didn’t expect today - a comment on the depths of the women’s toilets 🚽 Pretty mad what a random piece of imagery can do🦋 have a read? 📚 #mindtheswearing#f💣
Overseas trained doctor at their first trauma call in the NHS turned to me as team leader & asked-
“What will be my privilege in the care of this patient?”
Some things are found, not lost in translation
Every role we play in the care of others is a privilege

I'm actually obsessed by the COP26 delegates getting transport smartcards.
Its so rare that you get such a naked illustration how our society really works.
The very second that important people need to use a public service it gets much better - until they don't need it anymore.
