Excellent panel discussion on mental health in academia today from @CactusMHS, @ZJAyres, @BhavikAnilPatel, @LindaCCor, and @proud_rpcv! I’m glad that these discussions are happening and hope to see change in the future.
Wellness seminars that tell grad students to "get enough sleep and do yoga," but do NOT acknowledge systemic issues in #academia (ex. racism, sexism, #mentalhealth stigma, etc.) are gaslighting students into believing they have to put up with abuse.

It's truly wonderful to see so many (much needed) initiatives aimed at supporting PhD students. I would however like to see more institutional support for these, they're often run by those most in need of support. Something to think about & work on moving forward.
We have developed a prism based Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence illuminator to be used over the 36 mm^2 field of view of the #Mesolens, providing ~100 nm axial resolution across a thousand cells in a single image. @PhysicsStrath@PhotonicsMeetup#POM20ju#POM20bio
