@DCI21522207@ubiquitousnewt How you deal with tantrums as a parent is key, but to state (as you did) that there is something ‘wrong’ with a child simply because they are having a normal tantrum is plainly incorrect. Just because that’s your opinion doesn’t make it fact.
@DCI21522207@ubiquitousnewt Since you didn’t seem to like the U.K. expert source, here’s a US expert source, again clarifying that tantrums are developmentally normal https://t.co/Ta6067PC7s
@DCI21522207@ubiquitousnewt What was the expert advice in previous generations regarding toddler tantrums?
Did it say that tantrums were ‘not normal’, as you are claiming?
@Partici_Nation@ubiquitousnewt That’s exactly what a tantrum is! A pre-verbal child who can’t articulate their frustrations and hasn’t learned to regulate their emotions yet!
A totally normal part of child development
@DCI21522207@ubiquitousnewt So rather than listen to the experts in child development in the UK’s National Health Service, you know better.
Right 🤯🙈
That’s a toddler throwing a tantrum, and it’s 100% age-appropriate behaviour. It’s how you deal with it that counts.
@Louisa_J_Watt@JennMGreenberg No it really isn’t! This is a typical toddler tantrum and it’s completely normal. It’s blowing my mind how many people on here are unaware of normal toddler behaviour 🤯

@rantanpln@ubiquitousnewt Exactly. Whether or not your toddler has tantrums/what they have them over is just down to their personality. I’d hate being restrained in a car seat too 😂
@DCI21522207@ubiquitousnewt I have two very well adjusted teenagers, both of whom used to tantrum like this as they hated the car seat. Not sure if advice has changed in past 15 years, but parents were advised by health professionals that this is 100% normal - https://t.co/Ygkv0v8Te6
@DeanAbbott At the same time, kids also need to realise that their parents are human. I remember my mum once saying to teenage me, after I’d upset her: ‘I’m not a robot, you know’. It did teach me to be a bit less of a selfish cow, which was a good thing imo.
