So with all of that, I’m really happy we somehow managed to build a sustainable project. One that gives tens of thousands of creators a free service and, thanks to supporters, still lets us improve it, try new ideas, make community events, and even sponsor tournaments.
Pulsoid started as a random fun project between 2 students. We just thought “hey, that’d be cool” and started building it with absolutely no idea how business works. Honestly, even now I still don’t really think about Pulsoid as a “business”.
Back then the whole idea ..
Back then the whole idea sounded really weird to a lot of people. Heart rate on stream? Who would even need that?
Getting the first users was super hard. We literally bought 50+ heart rate monitors with our own money and sent them to the first users. Monetization took a while too
Pulsoid has been serving creators for almost 10 years now, and none of it would have been possible without the people who supported us along the way.
Not just those who chose the BRO plan, but also the creators who believed in the idea from the very beginning, made tutorials on their own, shared Pulsoid and heart rate streaming with others, or kept engaging with our updates and content over the years.
Every bit of support helped us keep going and motivated us to continue building. ❤️
Back in 2022, we had the smallest booth at TwitchCon Amsterdam, and it sat right in front of the StreamElements area. Their space was beautiful and inspiring, and seeing a company we admired up close motivated us to work even harder toward our own goals. We're grateful for that moment.
So the situation with StreamElements is genuinely sad to see.
@StreamElements helped shape the entire creator ecosystem we're all part of today. They changed the lives of countless content creators and gave so many people the tools to build something real. That impact doesn't disappear, no matter what comes next.
Running a business is always a bet. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't. That's the hard reality every company faces. But what they built mattered, and it deserves real respect.
Company sustainability is a hard question, and we don't know all the decisions made behind the scenes. Sending genuine respect and gratitude to the StreamElements team. ❤️
We want to be clear: Pulsoid is here, steady and focused, with no plans to slow down. We remain committed to our vision of giving everyone the ability to stream their real-time heart rate. Pulsoid has been around for almost 10 years already, and we only made it this far because people believed in us and supported us along the way.
Every bit of support kept us going. ❤️
@joelcompiles Not sure if we can help here, but we at @pulsoid_app are always happy to create new integrations that empower our users’ hearts even more
I'm really sad about the whole SE situation. I hope the acquisition goes through and gives the project new life. I really feel for the users, employees, widget designers, and everyone affected by the uncertainty around it.
Submissions here are something I was not expecting to see. Well, I didn't expect this huge shift to come so fast and in such little community activities.
I'll have to beg our real users to make a couple relevant human intelligence memes 🥲
