@BorjomiDrinker We never had kids despite a lot of hope and effort. I’m shuttling around my visiting nephews this week and shoving them full of junk food 😂 it’s not the life I wanted but there is still love and joy in the midst of a grief I can’t ever set down.
@mrs_alyse I wish people wouldn’t just assume everyone has the same reproductive story and it’s easy for everyone since it was easy for them. Im sorry you’ve experienced so much loss. Infertility sucks.
@vlhill1@DanielleBFranz Running is what I see far more often than screaming. It’s such a safety risk. A restaurant owner I know had to tell a family to leave recently because they wouldn’t stop their kids from running and it was too dangerous with hot food etc
@mrs_alyse When we were diagnosed in 2009 I honestly thought we were like 1 in a million because of how little it. Childlessness after infertility is also very rarely discussed. Everyone assumes it’s chosen.
Since this administration is so obsessed with women having more babies…let me remind you of something:
A woman’s worth is not defined by how many children she may or may not have.
Women’s health isn’t just about what happens before and during pregnancy. Her health matters across her entire lifespan, from the moment she is born until the day she dies.
A woman is not just a “baby oven”. Her health matters. That’s not up for debate, period.
@brittilina No. My solution is that people can say “I love having a big family” and share about it without making broad statements about the spiritual well being of people they don’t know whose families may look different from theirs for a huge variety of reasons.
@brittilina And this one guy can ripple into someone saying “you didn’t pray hard enough, that’s why your baby died” Thats why the request is to model grace and compassion when discussing reproductive stories. 1in4 pregnancies ends in loss, 1 in 6 walk infertility.
@brittilina Because people DO say that stuff in person to people whose stories involve deep pain. “God knew you’d be a bad mom” “Your baby died because of secret sin” I can give you a long list of awful things people say. That’s why people ask for compassion to lead
@KaeleyT I led an infertility support group at a large church for 9 years. Most of the male pastors didn’t come within a mile of it. I see this and grieve for my sisters walking deep grief
@_nomadic_soul I bought some shaved lamb leg at Trader Joe’s to try to make salads with arugula, roasted butternut squash and I’m going to make some crispy chickpeas for crunch. Think total for 3-4 salads will be about $25 and 30 minutes. I just need to figure out a dressing 😂
