🚨BREAKING: Kentucky family rejects a $26 million offer to turn their farmland into a data center, roughly 10x the area’s going rate.
“If it’s my way, I’ll stay and hold and feed a nation. 26 million doesn’t mean anything.”
Excited to share our new preprint on refrigerant discovery. It started as a bold idea brought by Anna Vartanyan @annadaneau, and thanks the amazing work of Adrien Goldszal, @diegocalanzone, Vincent Taboga, it became a reality. https://t.co/yFCPCxmpVU
So happy to see @elonmusk connected to his heart and mission! Although I am more into decentralized micro-grids powered by solar. We need to cut oil dependency worldwide, help countries secure their own energy supply.
"The study proposes a shift of incentives away from destructive large-scale monocultures that rely on fertilisers, pesticides... Instead, financial incentives should be directed towards smallholders who turn farms into carbon sinks with space for wildlife

Happy July 4th...“The foundations of the government of the United States are oriented around the ideas of liberty and equality... by nature of their existence, human beings possess rights, independent of any governing or societal power…” https://t.co/uEG8JQ1wwA
India, the world's third-highest emitter & most populous nation, hits pause on new plans for coal plants for the next five years while committing to growing its renewables sector. This is a significant step toward a clean energy future!

What we must do immediately:
1) End the use of fossil fuels
2) Build massive amounts of solar & wind
3) Electrify everything
4) Localize
5) Conserve
5) Find solutions for the last hard stuff (planes, cement)
6) Stop cutting down trees

BAM! A historic breakthrough for people and the planet. After years of negotiations,
@UN member states finally agreed to the 1st treaty to protect the #HighSeas.
A good day for people and the planet. Big kudos to all.

International Energy Agency:
Solar set to overtake all other power sources by 2027.
In three years, will overtake gas.
In four years, will push past coal.
#Solar to become largest generation capacity of any power source.

@curious_founder@KHayhoe you should check Montreal Protocol and its Kigali Amendment- few dozens of passionate and dedicated policy makers who worked very hard to make it happen...HFCs are GHGs that are less known then methane or CO2 but have very high GWP...
@elonmusk Came back to twitter after 5 years....because I also love "truth-seeking". And I am sure I am not the only one (and no, I am not conservative, or republican), I am a social democrat who grew up in Scandinavia...and there is nothing more that I love than freedom and democracy :)
@Imustnotf3ar @ShaneTHazel @elonmusk some companies are already finding a way to recycle wind turbine blades...hopefully we will find more and more sustainable ways to produce solar panels and wind turbines
@nufcborgir@elonmusk what Elon Musk has been doing for CC is already significant and much more that many empty promises from our governments...could he do more? maybe...but can we take a moment and acknowledge his contribution and simply show a little gratitude for revolutionizing EV industry....
Global oil companies are reporting 2022 as their most profitable year in history.
Meanwhile, the planet continues to burn as household budgets shrink.
We must change course. The only credible direction to take is away from fossil fuels & towards renewable energy.
