@techdiction here is the original article from which I took the excerpt:
Britain’s budget cuts taxes on the promise of productivity gains

from The Economist
Hey @TheEconomist!
Come speak to us on this: “Nobody at Microsoft, let alone in the nhs, yet knows how best to put generativeAI to use—and would you trust Chatgpt to fill out medical forms…?”
We have very clear ideas…and clinicians are excited about those forms being filled!
@TheEconomist Come talk to us at Microsoft. We are working with NHS Trusts on their GenerativeAI use cases and we are clear on the value it can bring. You know who is excited about those forms being filled? Doctors. And one Trust is testing it on exactly that use case as I type this.
@RideArroUK How do we contact you @RideArroUK? No working phone number and the app isn't working properly - stuck at the consent screen. Used your service, left a valuable item behind and unable to contact anyone to retrieve it!
@LukeOShea1@HSJnews Great article. Big question for me is how NHS can invest the time and effort required from busy staff to capitalise on these technologies so it's done properly - taking public on the journey. Agree we would benefit from a national strategy!
@nowthisnews If I needed help, and research & rescue sent a swarm of cyborg cockroaches, I'd probably pray for a quick death. Or the heart attack would have got me. But still...awesomely cool.
Thought for the day...
"The question of whether Machines Can Think... is about as relevant as the question of whether Submarines Can Swim."

@HelenBevanTweet @anujmagazine@ValaAfshar Couldn't agree more Helen. My career doesn't make a huge amount of sense on CV but it works in the context of the great managers I've had a chance to learn from - @cjallison16, @SamRobertsNHS and @Michael_Mac_UK. The role is secondary (although the culture of the org is key too!)
@edgarmengelberg@SimonCalder Thanks. I did read the article, but I also looked on the french govt website where I did not find any reference to the above. This is why I asked if the rules had been changed since the article was published. I am fairly certain compassionate grounds no longer hold to go in.
Rapid tests work very well to answer 🧵
AM I INFECTIOUS and a RISK TO OTHERS
This is THE public health ? we care about
I made a BIG chart of rapid tests
- Overall sensitivity vs any PCR pos - what FDA judges
- Sensitivity if infectious (97%!) - what we actually care about
