23 years ago today: Tents lined up outside of Memorial Stadium. For days, students had been camping outside the stadium in hopes of securing the best seats for Saturday’s game.

The party lasted all night, as fans yelled Boomer Sooner and car horns went crazy into the wee hours of the morning as everyone awaited No. 3 OU and No. 1 Nebraska.

Inside Memorial Stadium that night, the goalpost in the south end zone sat quietly. Hours later, they would be carried outside the stadium.

It was the night before one of the best home games in OU history.
