If you do nothing else today, stop and take 2 minutes to listen to Kentucky Baseball’s @Coach_Mingione PREACH during his press conference after his team punched its ticket to the College World Series for the first time ever.
Incredible stuff 🙏
Each day in the professional setting I grow more and more thankful for my time as a student-athlete. There is no situation that I can’t, at minimum, make the necessary adjustments to get in a winning position. Sports carry you through life!
It’s crazy to think about how in baseball we expect guys to hit their peak around age 27-30. Yet, with most women in softball we never get to see them hit their peak. We try to get 18-23 y/o to get to their max potential in that short window (with exception of pro/oly players)
don’t ever apologize for making yourself better even if that means cutting off ties to people who think they’re entitled to you treating them a certain way or you owing them something, they will be that way anyways, you do what’s best for you
The world is moving too fast. We want everything done in the blink of an eye. We can't wait, we can't stay still. It's always a race between us and the time, and time usually wins which frustrates us. But what, if for a moment we stop, we grasp out breath and just live.
if there’s anything i’ve learned in the past month it is that your success doesn’t define your happiness. i’m not saying don’t be successful but make sure you are still okay mentally and physically before you define your success.
Students who were forced to be resilient their whole lives don’t need another conversation about grit. They need resources, guidance, sponsorship, advocacy….etc.
going to costa rica this summer for study abroad and my professor had two great pieces of advice in our 1st meeting:1.if there’s a snake, scorpion, etc in your bed just scream, they will get it 2.can’t sleep bc you’re hot? take a shower because we won’t have hot water anyways
