Dc food trucks on the mall are all selling the same garbage for $$$
My proposal:
Each state is given 2 food trucks. Local restaurants from around the country make bids to be the representative of their state and the public votes on what food place they want to represent them
Rep. Tom Suozzi to @AndrewSolender: "People who do not support the DSA wring their hands at cocktail parties, while the DSA is organizing."

#OnThisDay in 1865, General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, TX to read Order No. 3, which affirmed the end of slavery in the states of the former Confederacy. This momentous occasion became known as #Juneteenth, a combination of “June” & “19th." More: https://t.co/bitoMm27sm
“I really identify with adolescents,” Joyce Carol Oates tells Emma Alpern at her home in Princeton, New Jersey. “She turned 88 on June 16, but I see what she means,” writes Alpern. “Physically, she’s got some of the coltishness of a teenager.” There’s an adolescent’s sense of menace and taboo in her work, too, which often revolves around predatory adults and the vulnerable young women who counterintuitively welcome their abuse.
The two speculate about the thread that runs through all her work, which is difficult — she has published 66 novels; 50 short-story collections; more than a dozen novellas, plays, essay collections, children’s books, and books of poetry; and several memoirs. Oates has an unusual place in American letters, putting out work that is at once accessible and unpalatably dark, that has earned her some of the highest prizes in literature even as she can seem critically neglected.
Lately, she thinks, the thread is death: the shock of losing people in your life, even if they are very old or ill and even if you’ve lost many others before. “As the years go by, people fade away. They disappear. And that’s genuinely surprising,” she says.

lamentablemente el Papa nos llamó a iniciar la guerra sagrada contra las máquinas y a partir de ahora voy a tener que monitorear la situación y dar la batalla contra el invasor pagano robótico y no puedo ocuparme de esos problemas de mierda que tenés
Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together. In Jesus Christ, this humanity in its grandeur becomes the Way, the Truth and the Life, opening the path for each of us to grow toward fullness. #MagnificaHumanitas
