this actually made me smile properly for the first time since the finale. it’s like their love is really everywhere now and I'm as a human can kind of feel it and see it through little “signs” like th
into the rain. Their conversation plays out, and in the end Anthony decides to give Aziraphale his umbrella so he won’t get wet. And they just look at each other completely in love
It would echo their very first meeting in Eden except this time it’s Crowley protecting Aziraphale

You know what else really upsets me about their human version? THEY DIDN’T ADD RAIN.
Just hear me out. Imagine this: there’s a thunderstorm outside but not one of those long, gloomy downpours. I mean that kind of rain that only happens in summer, when the sky ⤵️
is full of dark clouds but the setting sun is still shining through, so everything is drenched in both rain and golden light at the same time.
Anthony walks into the bookshop to buy a book. Then everything else happens the same way. He leaves, and Aziraphale runs after him out
@ThatFiendd Omg finally I see someone else talking about this. Yes, that ending is perfect for the book versions but given the depth of the love and the backstory of the TV series Az and Crowley it just doesn’t work for them anymore.

The ending Terry and NG planned for a sequel book would have worked in the book.
But I feel like the show script writers didn't take into account that in making Aziraphale and Crowley's love story explicit and a central focus, it changed what the ending meant +
@FluffySock_@Vite_Wind@slightly_artist Yes because what message does that send to people who have been through trauma? That you can’t be happy or love because you’ve been through too much and are carrying a huge burden?

Anyone asking for the original script because they don’t believe he* (you know) could have written it should go and watch The Sandman. IT’S LITERALLY THE SAME ENDING, LITERALLY

I think I’m start to understand why the ending is so divisive. First of all it was written for the book, for the book versions of Aziraphale and Crowley. The show didn’t even exist yet. And for them this ending feels like the best possible one it’s very true to the
spirit of the book. But for the TV versions of these characters, it just doesn’t work anymore. The book doesn’t have all those flashbacks across the centuries, those looks full of love and yearning. Yes the book is queercoded but it doesn’t delve into their feelings nearly as
@IAteMyApple making them immortal and live amongst humans is cruel, they would see everything end one way or another and have nothing except space maybe
making them human but in their world is impossible as we saw with gabriel, their mortal brain couldn't hold all of their memories
beings. And trying to forget all of that while simply living... that’s not an easy path at all. So there’s only one way let to be born as humans from the very beginning

It feels like in just a few hours I went through all five stages of grief and came to the conclusion that, despite its flaws, this really is the only way for them to be together in peace and enjoy life ⤵️
As many of you have already said here, they wouldn’t last even a day as humans, which is pretty clear from Crowley’s example after losing his demonic powers. They’re far too used to being who they’ve been for all these thousands of years and to living among humans as supernatural
