@ChelneyAndrew It is baffling to me that after three years the same false perception is out there. My dad was in one single meeting for 5-10 minutes after a playoff game where he was told by his bosses they were looking into a matter that didn’t at all resemble sexual assault.
"I fully understand those who question my return to the league. I know words aren't enough. I will demonstrate through my actions that I am a man of character. We will be a team this community can be proud of, both on and off the ice. This is my promise."
Joel Quenneville spoke following his introduction as Ducks head coach.

@ChelneyAndrew All the hockey ops people in that same meeting all said the same thing, they were never led to believe the incident was relating to sexual assault.
@ChelneyAndrew He made a mistake of omission in a 5 min meeting in the context of a 40 year career where everyone touted him as someone who showed more respect to his players and peers than anyone.
@ChelneyAndrew And no my dad did not ever write a letter of recommendation for the video coach, that is just another blatant false perception I’m tired of seeing.

Nobody benefits from this cancel culture on a conveyer belt. How do you make this unfortunate situation better, can this be used educationally to help an instance in the future. Partnering with JQ benefitting from his stature and public figure to be an advocate to help others. Tie the pieces together to make an unfortunate wrong a right— that’s leadership 101. My NCAA hockey team and my son’s youth hockey organization have benefited greatly in this capacity. We had JQ speak on an anti-bullying platform along with other important life matters far away from the game of ice hockey. His reach in this space is unlimited. Anyone that has ever crossed paths with Coach Q knows that he is a giver. That’s how you make a difference.
