Had an awesome afternoon with some AMAZING students from Milford High School @MilfordNhs! They really made me miss being back in the school building. I want to thank them for being vulnerable and sharing their authentic selves with me. I look forward to continuing our journey ♥️
“The best historical inquiry acknowledges and interrogates systems of oppression—racial, ethnic, gender, class—and openly addresses the myriad injustices that these systems have perpetuated...” #TruthToPower@The_OAH #GreatLeadership https://t.co/1X2pKj18Bf
Educators nationwide are facing backlash for signaling inclusion and anti-racism. We are proud of this teacher and the students who rose to her defense. It's not up for debate that educators should value every child. More school leaders should say so.

Gotta brag on the MHS teachers, admin, & staff. The committment, persistence, & focus since returning last Fri is incredible. Seriously. Sure, we’ll make some mistakes, but parents, your kids are in the hands of the most talented educators I know. We are all HERE for all of you!
There's been a lot of conceptual thinking about teaching online, but not quite enough actual how-to. This fantastic post from @triciaebarvia is definitely the latter: 24 structures for online teaching in a block schedule. Bravo. https://t.co/i9e3GN1rAg
For the people hating on teachers, Doctors & nurses are trained to deal with viruses & provided adequate resources. Athletes can opt out even though provided a Bubble & more than adequate resources. Teachers show up w/ no bubble, training to deal w/ virus or adequate resources.
Look at the coronavirus protocols for pro athletes (tests every other day, temperature checks twice a day, group quarantining).
Then look at the protocols for schools (handwashing, stay home if you’re sick).
Imagine if we valued the lives of teachers the same as MLB shortstops.
Betsy DeVos failed to answer a single question from @DanaBashCNN on #CNNSOTU about how this administration would ensure the safety of students, educators, & their families.
Saying “kids should go back to school” over and over isn’t a plan—it’s dangerous
No nation has tried to send children back to school with the virus raging at levels like America’s, and the scientific research about transmission in classrooms is limited. https://t.co/MOGofFJQfo
