@SpoolandThimble Upside, I emailed the condo board (it's a small condo everyone knows each other except I'm new) and they were all over both making sure I feel safe and helping me get the door fixed, so I honestly feel safer than I did before because my neighbours took that part seriously
It's funny how the transphobia that was ugly enough i will not be repeating it to anyone not paid to listen to me is instantly recognised by a southern state crisis line, but not anyone in management in a state with comprehensive legal protections.
"why did you hang up on me?"
"Because you were being racist and I asked you three times to stop and warned you if you didn't I would hang up and we could talk in an hour'
Admin and front line staff love that I set boundaries on abusive behaviour and encourage them to do the same. Executive think we should be more "available"
Guess which one handles more abusive behaviour.
If you are uncomfortable with becoming an OTW member, even under these circumstances (legit, I am as well) there are still several things you can do to support the campaign and keep the focus where it SHOULD be, instead of on a derailing asshole performing PEAK White Nonsense.
When people take time to analyse and break down and describe racism in a community, they are giving you a GIANT GIFT of the chance to improve, knowing that they are more likely to be harassed and attacked then thanked for it.
Stitch is one such and deserves better.
If you're now concerned abt org dysfunction but go out of your way to dismiss and misrepresent the ppl who facilitated this discussion, the ppl who've endured YEARS of harassment for pointing that dysfunction out, then you are racist. I don't care how much you try and dress it up
